Amazing place! I wish some yoga class teachers would not talk so much about their personal life in the middle of the class...There has been at least three instructors who start telling the class about their weekend, what happened last night at the store, or an anecdote about their childhood..., one teacher played hip hop style music, and even sang over the recording....Even when they seem to want to relate their personal story to a "teaching objective", I feel they are invading the atmosphere to focus toward themselves, ...and they take away the mood and the individual purpose of the experience.

Asheville community yoga is the bomb diggity. I lived in North Asheville about 4 years ago so I would take classes there frequently because of the proximity. Now I live in Mills River but drive all the way up there for classes whenever I can because it’s the best! All the teachers there have been great and I especially love Michael’s classes. He is great at creating a comfortable environment and reminding you to be your best self without any cheesy motivational speeches. He keeps it real and I appreciate that! A great place to get your yoga on!!!

Came to the 4:15 class with Emily- it was so relaxing, I hadn't been to a yoga studio in awhile but was really excited I found this place! Super, super friendly staff! I will definitely be back- great way to end the weekend! Thank you Asheville Community Yoga💜💜💜Went to Lauren's (5:15pm) Gentle Yoga class yesterday! I'm new to yoga (at a studio) but the way she connects your breathing to movement is AMAZING! I have never felt so in sync!! If you want to work on your breath during practice, she's one to see!! Great class!

I have been going to prenatal yoga classes here for almost 2 months and love it. Anastasia is a really great instructor and the facility is very nice. I love that they really foster the community aspect and that it is a non-profit.

Community is the key here! Students come to hang out and take class. The variety of teachers and classes is unmatched in this mountain town! It is also the CLEANEST studio I've ever practiced in (West coast and South). The employees are so helpful and with the addition of the healing arts and thrift clothing store this place serves so many needs! So lucky to have found this place!

Asheville Community Yoga (ACY) is the best donation based yoga studio in Asheville. I have been practicing at ACY for around 2 years now and consider this my home away from home. The focus of the studio is COMMUNITY and there are always ways for students to get involved. The teachers are knowledgeable, friendly, giving and together they create a peaceful atmosphere. Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, I highly recommend you come and take a class at ACY!

I love this studio and what it represents. "Freedom through Service". It's always hard for me to leave. The Karma Cafe offers clean, delicious food, which is also affordable. Zen and Now is very thoughtfully arranged and reasonably priced. I sincerely can not say enough good things about the staff and my overall experience at ACY.

You cannot help but fall in LOVE with this studio/community.Asheville Community Yoga is really beyond words — as far as yoga studios go, it doesn’t get better than this folks. The whole premise is based on Karma Yoga, selfless service, and you can feel the intention and dedication of the staff, students, and volunteer teachers envelope the whole block (and beyond — we’re coming from California. Honestly, ACY is our biggest reason for being in Asheville.)Classes are donation based (give what you can and support this incredible community). Karma Cafe is attached and has delicious, very affordable food (like $6-7/meal... wow). There is even a teeny thrift store (also very affordable) and local artists work for sale inside.Lovely, lovely classes in a wonderful, welcoming space for yogis of all levels, shapes, sizes, etc. Excited to watch things blossom further in this community. 🙏❤️
