I am very impressed with this YMCA. I was 3 hours away from my home Y and they were very nice and eventually found me after my workout. The excersize room is spacious and there are enough machines for everyone. This Y is a work of art. I'll be coming back again when I visit Asheville!!!

It’s a beautiful updated ymca with nice equipment and features like the rock wall and hot tub but when it comes to the staff at this ymca I suggest visiting the YMCA downtown instead. These people are rude! Also their classes don’t align with their childcare services and the people running the childcare service will cage your child in another room isolated from staff and other children if they cry until they pee themselves. A child trying to express their need to use the restroom is punished in this manner and when I went to pick up my daughter no one had spoken to her, played with her and she was play-pinned alone in another room and they had not even noticed she had peed down to her shoes because no one was interacting with her at all! Now she is terrified to go back into that classroom. They have an outdoor playground and an indoor climbing area for these younger ones but neither are ever used.

Love the y except for the climbing wall and the sports program. We signed up for soccer and had no coach. We went for the climbing wall and waited an hour and as my son was being put in the holster, we were pushed back for a random girl who had not waited. Thoroughly disappointed. Will not climb again. We will also not donate in the future.

Staff are occasionally condescending, though overall fine. The weight room leaves much to be desired. The free weight benches are unsafe and needlessly complicated. Frequently too busy to complete a workout with any expedience. Also, the pool no longer allows kayaking classes, which is a real disappointment in Asheville since it is one of the premier kayaking locales in the east.

This place is ridiculous!! It's like a Beverly Hills elite gym tucked away in Asheville of all places! I have visited a few YMCA's in my travels & they're usually all the same. But this one is an anomaly. The staff is over the top friendly, the facility is beyond clean and the equipment is all state-of-the-art. My favorite was the beautiful view of the town square & mountains in the background that you have while running on the treadmills. It makes the exercise time fly by!If I lived in Asheville, I would be at this gym every day. In fact, I'm hesitant of even posting this review because I want to keep this place as my little secret!!

An absolutely beautiful facility that is offset by unfortunately being not run very well. The staff are very nice, well-meaning folks. And it’s surprisingly not kept especially clean and already showing signs of lackadaisical care. They also have strange policies for a health club. I know it’s just “the Y” but it’s still a health club. Forget your towel or lock? You’re out of luck. They can’t even sell you one. Have kids and a busy schedule? Expect spotty hours of child care at inoppurtune times. Weather report of lightening ten miles away? There goes the entire pool, sauna, steam room facility. They completely shut it down for “a half hour” which really means indefinitely. Will it re-open? They don’t know. They have to wait for an alert to come over the computer and there isn’t an actual person there making decisions. The staff have little to no power. For someone wanting to have a health club membership, unfortunately you’re in a tight spot because honestly of the limited choices in Asheville, they can afford to be mediocre. It’s cheap enough to have a membership. But know what you’re getting into. It’s a real shame because it really is a beautiful facility.

Amazing gym, best we have found since Wellness center in Cape Coral Florida. I love that one membership for thousands of gyms and a handful in Western North Carolina. The staffing is extremely friendly and helpful! Great view from the tredmills taboot

I have been a member here for several years now! I don't have very many complaints at all. It does get busy around 5:30-6 o'clock in the evenings, but what gym doesn't? The staff here is always smiling and friendly.

Could not be happier with a gym than I have been here. The facility is always immaculate and the employees are some of the friendliest anywhere. My children love it here too. Since joining the Y at Reuter I've grown to love going to the gym on an almost daily basis. If you're looking for a new family friendly gym to call home, this is the place to be! You won't be disappointed!

Really nice facility with great equipment, locker area, pool, kids areas w/ childcare, indoor track, bball, climbing wall, etc, etc. And they tutor, give to needy and help the community. Plus you can use the other two Ys in asheville. If your looking into gyms it's a no-brainer.
