I joined John's Gym about a month ago, and hired Jasmine as my personal trainer. First let me say that I've been out of shape for 20 years and reluctantly joined after a friend told me he had and was seeing Jasmine for his personal training as well. John's Gym is not a meat market. It's not even your typical gym, which is awesome for guys like me. Everyone's friendly and helpful, and are there to work out and better themselves. I love this place!Jasmine is awesome, too! Very sweet lady, and she knows her stuff! She immediately asked me what my diet was like, and then set me up with a nutrition plan. I tell her every single meal I have, six times a day, and she either tells me good job, or offers suggestions to have instead of what I may have had. Twice a week I strength train with her, and twice a week I do cardio boxing with one of the other trainers.I know I've got a long way to go, but Jasmine and John's Gym are exactly what I needed. Guidance with living healthier in general, praise when I do well, and confidence building while I work to better myself. I can't recommend this place enough, and would tell anyone to come check it out!

I had an great experience working out at John's Gym! I had just moved to Austin, and I searched all over for a great gym to practice BJJ, and I found it here. John's Gym offers world class BJJ and other martial art instruction for an incredibly good price. I have been to quite a few gyms in the past, and I never felt as welcomed as I did here. There is quite a gender and age mix of the martial arts practitioners, and you really are treated like family when you walk in the door. The Jiu-Jitsu instructor was amazing, but he was also very open and very easy going. You train very hard, and I got in great physical shape, but the instructor never tries to stroke his own ego -- he is most focused on you, the student.I don't have children myself, but I know that the gym offers a number of great children's classes as well. The kids always look like they're having an awesome time training.I was also very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility; the gym was very well kept. I would DEFINITELY still be training here if I didn't have to move away for work, and I was very bummed when I had to leave. Seriously, if you're at all interested in amazing BJJ or other fitness instruction, please check these guys out!

I have been a member at John’s Gym for a year now. In that time it has become a second home to me. The knowledge and experience of the trainers is excellent. The gym is clean, functional, and well equipped. But more important to me is the promotion of constructive growth and acceptance. Individuals who want to learn and develop in their chosen discipline thrive here; while show boaters, and more abusive people that might thrive at other gyms are quickly excluded. This gym and its trainers changed me from an unskilled and inexperienced boxer and helped me to become skilled and confident within the ring. I love this gym and I am grateful to John and Jasmine for the culture of family that they have created here.

If i could give 10 stars or more to John's Gym I would do it in a heartbeat. On my first day upon entering John's Gym to observe the environment, I felt a sense of belonging. I was immediately greeted at the door as well as by everyone else inside. There were no egos as everyone was welcoming with open arms. As a veteran of 13 years in the Marine Corps I was amazed at the FREE veterans jujitsu class that are offered as well (which was my original purpose of observing the gym). The instructors at John's Gym have tremendous work ethic, and have impressed me with the vast amounts of knowledge, and the high quality of energy they demonstrate on a daily basis. Their knowledge instilled in me has helped lead me to a gold medal at my very first competition.Overall, John's Gym performance exceeded what was expected. Their knowledge and tireless instructions will be instrumental to the successful family oriented environment. I enthusiastically recommended this Gym for everyone. It will definitely be worth your time.

I joined John's Gym almost 2 years ago and still love going every day, and not just because I lost 50 pounds. Everyone that you meet at the gym is super friendly and just want to help you reach your fitness goals. The trainers are amazing and will make you work hard but you'll have fun doing it. I've never had so much fun working out before! No matter what classes you take, from cardio kickboxing to Jiu Jitsu to the Kettlebell classes you'll be having fun. Most likely you'll even leave your first day with a few new friends! John's Gym is the only gym that I've ever been to where I actually feel welcome and that everyone is actually happy to see me and happy that I am there. No matter what fitness level you're at, there's a spot for you at John's Gym. We really are a family.

John's Gym is truly a place "where every one knows your name". It's not a big, flashy gym, but it's got everything you need for a solid workout. It's the first gym I've been to that the owners, John and Jasmine, are participating in the classes with you. They honestly care about your success and are always right there cheering you on! I've met some pretty awesome people here that treat me and my kids like family. It's been almost a year now since joining John' Gym and I can honestly say I LOVE training here!

I use John's Gym for cardio kickboxing 3-5 times a week combined with a trainer for lifting. I was overweight and my overall health was awful (120 glucose level, triglycerides were 727, total cholesterol was 219 and my HDL was 32, my triglycerides were so high, they couldn't even calculate the LDL ro the risk ratio). I did change my diet to 6 healthy meals a day, but what happened in two months amazed not only me, but also my trainer and my primary care physician. After 7 weeks of working out at Johns Gym my glucose is down to 110, my total cholesterol is down to 170, my triglycerides are down to 116, and my HDL was up to 44, my risk ratio could be calculated at it was 2.34 which is well below the expected of less than 3.55. Interesting thing is I've only lost 5 lbs on the scale, but I am down from 31% body fat to 23.75% body fat. The owners, staff and trainers are incredible, they are nice and they will motivate you to continue, for the price, it's the best value for the results. I think they should charge more. I am looking forward to seeing what the next 6 months will bring. I highly recommend John's Gym to anyone who is looking to lose weight and improve their overall health.

Since I was 7 years old, I have always dreamed of being able to be a world champion. I found a place where I have changed so much in a positive way. I live approximately an hour, and 45 minutes. Sometimes longer due to the traffic. I am dedicated to drive that far Mon-Thurs because this place is that damn great. I found a place that is so positive, and a place where I put my heart, and dedication towards. Everyone there is welcoming to anyone, and the coaches there absolutely, can bring the best out of you. Anyone that trains there is apart of a great team. Whether, you looking to fight, get in the best shape of your life, are interested in Kettlebell, or have a passion for bjj. Whatever you goal is, this is THE GYM to train at. The coaches, and teammates here will help you progress, and get you to go beyond your goals. This gym, team, and coaches is top notch. This place gave me more confidence, a place where I am accepted by everyone, and place I absolutely love to be.

I want to lose 90 pounds. I started going to John's Gym a couple of weeks ago. I just finished my 6th class. I've been taking cardio kickboxing. Tonight I took my first cardio boxing class. I've lost 12 pounds so far. Of course I've been watching my diet as well, but sweating my ass off in these classes has been great. It's motivating. The instructors are motivating. It's hard, but also incredibly fun. If you are looking for a gym with instructors who get you to move your ass and sweat, then look no further than John's Gym. This place is really amazing.
