Planet Fitness

This was my primary gym many years ago. I would drive home and stop by and work out. My biggest complaint was the "meat heads" that used to hog all of the benches and free weights. If you even tried to use a bench, some guy would coming running from across the gym floor screaming, "I am still using that!!" There used to be a group of young guys who would work out around that time. I used to call them "Jersey Shore" because I never saw them ever lift a weight, but were always admiring themselves in the mirror. Currently, this gym does still have a few "lollygaggers" who will sit on FaceBook for 30 minutes on one machine. I witnessed one guy watching Netflix for over 25 minutes and never moved. I have planned my workouts where I never run into any issues being able to grab a machine while I am working the circuit. There are also plenty of cardio machines for folks to use.Ross who works at night is amazing. He is very friendly, personable and professional. I appreciate that he always stops and makes small talk when I come in. He will even ask where my son is when I am coming in solo. Ross always is on top of keeping the gym clean and well maintained.I would love to see them extend the hours of this location on the weekends. Given, you might need someone to check you in. We have key tags. Why not have the black card members be able to work out and unlock the door using their key tag? I would also love to see Planet Fitness expand their drink selections. I had worked out at another local Austin gym. I spent more money on buying cases of protein bars and energy drinks. If I could get all of that at one place, that would be a game changer. I have see it at other Planet Fitnesses outside of Austin. Overall, it is a good value for the money.

Planet Fitness has been a great place to exercise during these months of extreme heat. Everyone is so friendly, and the facility seems very clean.

Friendly staff. Cleanliness of bathrooms. Ample cleaning supplies for exercise stations. I like how the staff comes out from behind the counter to walk the floor to actually check for working machines and cleaning supplies are refilled.

Front desk was a little busy so I joined the gym via my cell phone during the wait. By the time they were available, all I needed was my picture taken! Nice people. Very friend. No issues.

I used to really love this place when I first started here but lately I have been extremely dissapointed. The water fountain has been broken forever. How on earth does a gym not have a water fountain? That is one of the most important things in there. They say they are waiting on a part or something. That is absolutely ridiculous. Also I was unaware that they started closing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I hadn't been in there in a while. But now when I do go it just seems like you cannot get a machine or a bench even if your life depended on it. It is extremely overcrowded so I like to go in the late hours but now I can't on those days. About 2 weeks ago I went when they were supposed to open at midnight and had to wait til about 12:15 til the kid got there to open up. There were about 5 people waiting to get in and we all had to wait on the employee. Very professional. At least they don't charge as much as other gyms. I'll give em that much.

I've joined a number of gyms over the years this is absolutely the best. Planet Fitness seems to have come up with the correct formula. Love the fact that there are at least 2 or more machines for each body part. Plus a whole plethora of treadmills, elliptical machines and stationary bikes to get your cardio on. The low price to join and the inexpensive upgrade to the Black card makes Planet Fitness the real deal.

No judgment gym. I love this gym so far. Friendly employees. Price is a steal. Gets busy after 430pm. Paper towels at one clean station occasionally needs replenishment. Tow truck tows cars parked there from The Armadillo across the street, so be aware. Tow truck drivers work independently.Overall satisfied with the establishment.

I really like how Planet Fitness operates. It's exactly the way every gym experience should be; No pressuring into a contract, multiple locations, open late, super clean equipment, awesome perks, price is literally unrivaled in the industry, and canceling is super easy if you want to.I work out a lot and have been a member at many gyms before including LA Fitness, East Bank Club, Baycare Fitness center, Anytime Fitness, Bally's, Gold's and a few others. NONE of them we as easy, straightforward, and honest as Planet Fitness is and ALL of them were more expensive.All other gyms want to harass you into contracts that cost more than they should because you end up paying for things you don't want or need while Planet Fitness does not.For people who just need a clean and solid gym to work out at with every piece of equipment you could possibly want, at an extremely affordable price, with numerous locations and quality perks... Planet Fitness is the obvious choice. I can't recommend Planet Fitness enough!

The facility is ok, not bad not great, it gets the job done. My gripe is the membership fees, just try to cancel and its like pulling teeth, then if you don't cancel by a certain date they charge you anyway. Its not the money its the principal, not to mention the yearly fee.

Really great gym. The guy working the front desk a few nights ago, Kevin, allowed me to stay an extra 15 minutes inside after he noticed I was waiting outside (after close) for my ride. Really went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and stayed late on my behalf to make sure I was safe (I’m a younger female). Thank you Kevin!!
