I joined SoLa a few months ago after my long-time gym closed and I was getting back into regular working out postpartum. I have loved this community so far. It’s a great mix of friendly, encouraging and competitive. The programming is thoughtful and the coaches are knowledgeable. I felt immediately welcomed and have (finally!) settled back into a good routine as we approach my first baby’s first birthday. Thank you, SoLa, for supporting me as I get back in the swing!

I moved to Austin and started at SoLa about 2 years ago, and it was the best thing I've done for myself in Austin. The gym is well maintained. There is a wide variety of workout programs. The coaches are fantastic - friendly, instructive, attentive, and interactive. The focus is on helping you get fit in a healthy way.Not only are the coaches fantastic - and they are, and the owners always trying to look for ways to improve the gym - and they are, but they do a great job of creating an environment of community.

I recently joined SoLa after about a year and a half break from CrossFit (thanks, COVID). I have loved every part of the community- I meet someone new every time I go because people regularly make sure to introduce themselves. The programming is awesome, the coaches are knowledgeable, and the facilities are the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a gym! Can’t recommend enough!

For me it’s the best Crossfit gym in Austin. The box couldn’t be more complete, the classes are super dynamic concentrating on conditioning, strength and cardio. The coaches are great and the Community is awesome. Highly recommend!

The modern gym had burned me out. Working out solo. Feeling like a robot. Just about everyone wearing ear buds or toying with their phone. No community as in mere friendliness. Plus monitors, TVs, music, antiseptic AC. What to do?Being a truth teller, I must admit: I was a little intimidated when I first observed a Sola workout. The weights looked huge (only to later discover they're lighter than they look) and the workouts intense. Meaning focused, sweating, pushing limits.Six months past, I'm all in. The trainers are top-notch, the workouts varied, and the open-air facility safe and outdoor refreshing. There's genuine camaraderie among members and felt welcome from day one. First few months, and to this day, more experienced members recognize my efforts after a workout with a sincere "way to go." That simple prompt means a lot.Jess, a co-owner with her spouse, Dave, a trainer and experienced athletic coach. She answered all my questions while Dave worked with me one-on-one for a few sessions on form, posture, safety, and kept a close eye as I began. That a training orientation is required of all new members speaks volumes. It also feels great to support a local venture, not some corporate giant with long contracts and hidden fees. After the first few weeks, I soon realized it's all about my personal edge, not comparing myself to others. Your limits and aspirations, and supporting others in theirs. You'll find ages young, mid, and older. I love the varied "cross-fit" aerobic, weight, stretching, and more, approach. They recently added a mini gym area, so workouts can be augmented by traditional weight lifting. Love the wood deck.Sola classes are 60 fast-paced minutes. No time to be stuck in the head. It's the most productive hour of my day. Classes are small -- 12 or so -- and run from early morning to early evening. The workout area is sectioned off into zones, and the Manhattan-beach, open-door, open-air layout, plus fans as large as windmills, is refreshing given Austin's temperate climate. For anyone with Covid concerns, this is a big plus. The monthly fee is more than a run-of-the-mill gym -- but not when a personal trainer once or twice a month is factored into the equation, which is a fair comparison considering the personal attention and small class size.
