A lot of machines are broken. They need to expand their hrs to work out to compete with the other gyms.

THIS PLACE IS THE WORST GYM IN TOWN! WEIGHTS ARE NEVER RACKED, MACHINES ARE CONSTANTLY BROKEN, CARDIO EQUIPMENT DOES NOT WORK. STAFF IS NOT WALKING AROUND TO CHECK ON THINGS OR REPLACE WEIGHTS. BUT YOU CAN FIND THEM ALL UP FRONT OR IN OFFICES! IF THERE WAS ANOTHER GYM..... OHHHH WAIT, RUMOR IS TRU FIT IS MAKING A MOVE SOON TO THE SAME AREA!!! I CANT WAIT TO FINALLY GET A GOOD DEDICATED TO THE CUSTOMER GYM. PLANET FITNESS WILL BE HEADING TO BROWNSVILLE SOON ENOUGH AS WELL. I pay top dollar for my membership and equipment is mostly the same equipment when it first opened. Weightlifting machines are missing weight pins, weight plates are falling apart, cable on machines are pealing off and dumbbell are misses matching sets. You get the picture. Staff are never available when you need a stop you need to peel them the computer behind their desks. Like the place but.

I showed up to my local gold's gym June 12, 2018 and found out that my membership has been cancelled. I asked to speak to the manager to inquire why? His explanation was that gold's corporate and my employer’s corporate account no longer exists. He mentioned that my employer sent out an email through their own database informing of a transfer membership period for primary and for family add-ons until May 15th because the relationship account would no longer exist. I explained to him I did not receive that email for whatever reason. If I would have been made aware of such account termination I would have taken care of it on a timely manner as my payments have been either through automatic debit or automatic bank withdrawal to gold's gym for the past 15 years of being a gold's gym member. His rude response was that it was my employer’s responsibility to take care of the message. I explained to him that it was not fair that responsibility be placed on my employer. I have been a gold's gym member the last 15 years and I have never missed a payment. This past summer of 2017 I mistakenly made a move to my employer’s corporate account rate not knowing that this relationship would not exist any longer one year later. I added my wife, myself, and the child care fee on this plan. I should have stayed with the rate I had the previous 14 years of being a gold's gym member. I explained to the Manager that when I made the change this past summer of 2017, I signed up at my local Gold's Gym again, and all my personal information was collected ( Name, personal email address, personal phone number, personal mailing address) and put into the Gold's Gym database. I asked him with all the personal information that was collected, why couldn't I have been contacted through my personal email, personal phone, or a letter sent home to my personal mailing address? I'm assuming that is the reason all this information is collected. I did business directly with my local gold's at the location so I would think its fair to say I get contacted directly as well by Gold’s Gym, and not through a third party.I don't think it is fair, I, the loyal customer the past 15 years, has to go find another gym because of miscommunication or something that fell through that was completely out of my control. He stated that I am currently no longer a member and my 15 year relationship with Gold’s gym does not exist anymore. This gym’s reputation apparently never ceases to change. Arrogance and Lack of Customer Service.
