Amped Fitness (Fort Myers)

They gym is really nice and has newer equipment. I agree with another person abt the neon lights. The ab and glutes room is very dark and bright pink and for someone with bad eyes it’s not a fun room to be in. The cleanliness of equipment worries me bc everyone shares spray bottles and used the sweat rags and wiping sweat with many others sweat. Many times there isn’t even a spray bottle around. That part is gross. It would be nice if each person got their own personal tag when walking in. There was also a guy using one of the machines who severely injured his back bc the equipment was broke and no sign was posted. That’s dangerous for the owner. My main issue with signing up is that I’ve been a member of planet fitness for over 6 years and left due to the fact that amped offered tanning and the same benefits as planet and was two miles closer. It’s now been over two months and no tanning. I am getting married in October and was promised these would be available. The gym has been opened for a while now and still no permit for tanning beds? I’m not sure if this was unlawfully advertised. But I do know I work in permitting and Fort Myers for one is pretty good about permits. Also, they gym is always packed out with college kids. So if you want a gym with more space…don’t go here! Be prepared to sweat a lot upstairs bc it’s hot. Not the best place for cardio.

Amped fitness is a great facility, with any exercise machine or free weight equipment you could want! The upstairs cardio, ab, and glute areas are separated, in addition to a boxing room and sauna in the restrooms. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a great gym, and a 24/7 membership if that's what you're looking for.Rob at the front desk was super helpful and answered all my questions setting up my membership!

Always packed, garbage equipment, you will always find at least 1-3 pieces of equipment with an out of order sign for months. Don't waste your money and go to a gym that actually has upscale equipment and not just a bunch of neon lights. They literally moved a bunch of equipment around, added a turf rug and neon lights and slapped the gym sign out front.

The gym has issues. 1) They sell tiered memberships but turns out even $10/mo members are accessing every part of the gym as $21/members2) The climate is poorly distributed with some areas being ultra hot and others beyond cold.3) Many of the members have poor hygiene and manners. Very few wipe machines and return weights yet amped says “we will hold members accountable for both of these things”amped keep notice that alot of these members are the same ones that trashed ATC into closure.

Incredibly disappointing. I’m a daily gym goer and I signed up expecting new equipment and facilities. Turns out the equipment is old and rusty / broken, locker rooms the same. I could open a better gym in my basement.Worth eating the $50 annual fee to cancel on my first visit... fine print gimmick that wasn’t worth arguing. I have several gym memberships in the area and this place is by far the worst equipped and worst conditioned. Unacceptable, especially on opening day.

Pretty good gym if you don’t mind staring at an overly bright LED no matter where you look. Brand new sauna with no raised seating and doesn’t get nearly hot enough. Oh, don’t forget they threaten fees if you don’t wipe down equipment; while simultaneously not providing equipment cleaning wipes. Only a few pre moist from sweat microfiber towels that you are expected to reuse over and over again. God only knows if they’ve ever been washed. Can’t imagine what kind of nasty bacteria is breeding in those towels, you couldn’t pay me to touch them.

Great gym and the employees are friendly and courteous. Every time I walk-in I am greeted with a smiling face and a big hello. Never have I been to a gym that does that and I have been going to gyms for over 40 years. Thanks to all those fantastic employees..

Great gym. Many free weights, many machines. Clean. Just perfect

Good gym with lots of free weight and machines. It's only $10 per month so no use in complaining about petty details. Was a member briefly and had some great workouts. Kai at the front desk is really welcoming and helpful.

Great gym, good vibes, and super nice staff who truly cares about their members! Lots of great equipment and not too overcrowded. The only thing I have had to get used to is how warm it is in there. But overall, it is a great gym and the price is amazing!
