Great gym run by great people. For those who have never climbed... UB is a great place to start a new hobby, do something fun for a first date, or burn off some of your kid's energy. For those who have climbed... UB has a generous amount of creative routes and friendly faces.Once you climb here, you'll definitely want to come back!

Routes are graded incredibly consistently and are quite creative. Staff (and actually everyone) are super friendly. Some important details:- the wall is very slippery, you **cannot smear** at this gym- **free liquid chalk dispensers!!**- routes are updated once a week on Tuesday- many routes despite relatively small place- routes top out at the last hold, unless there is tape at the top of the wall- I believe they are expanding soon to include top rope and suchMain complaints:- only opens at Noon on weekdays!! Even 10am open on weekends is kind of late...- the gym in the back could use some upgrades and equipment- it gets packed during peak hours- the location is quite suboptimal at the far corner of urbana but what can you do :(

Loved bouldering here a few weeks ago! My boyfriend and I both enjoyed the variety of styles amongst the boulder problems. Something we face at our home gym is that "harder grade=crimps" and I love that Urbana boulders has some really challenging problems at their gym that aren't all about grip strength! We also love the variety of walls, overhangs, and the back section of the gym.

I’ve been to many climbing gyms over the last few years all across the eastern part of the US and this is by far my favorite one yet. The gym has an awesome mix of difficult and easy problems, problems that may be easy but add and element to it that make it really fun, etc. the size of the gym is very deceiving because they do an excellent job of slamming the walls full of unique and fun routes. From what I saw their membership price is insanely good I was shocked that I only ran into maybe 8 people while there midday on a Saturday. The back room when I was there was set with so many fun ways to use big blocky holds, crimps, and jugs (including two bat hang problems!). Their use of volumes on the many walls is also very creative in making the best use out of the limited space they have. I truly wished I lived in the area so I could climb here again.

Really fun problems set here! Creative use of space for a considerably small location. Walls need texture. They’re completely smooth right now, which makes smearing extremely difficult. Cool murals on the walls as well.
