I am 64-year-old women and I have mobility issues. In years past, I have gone to different gyms and had other personal trainers. I always felt like they did not understand me when I said, “I can’t do that” or “I’m afraid to try”. That’s not the case with Jason at New Start. Jason specializes in an older clientele and listens to what I am saying. He is always right next to me to give me a true “helping hand” when I’m struggling to balance and words of encouragement as I count out my reps. Each session he has a workout written in his book that tells him each routine we are going to do. One day I came in and said, “I can’t do anything with my knees today because they are really hurting”. No Problem. Jason changed the plan, and we worked upper body only. He didn’t skip a beat. Sometimes when he asks me to do something and I know it’s going to be hard I say “That’s something to aspire to”, but I do my best knowing that I will improve the next time and get even better at it as I do it each week. I’m glad I found New Start.

I'm over 50 and have some chronic injuries. Jason listened carefully to my goals and developed a plan. The great part of having a personal trainer is that they can make a plan for your personal goals and then adjust it as needed. Each time I hit a wall Jason would find a pain free work around and I've made great progress. It's nice to be able to do an effective work out with exercise rotations without having to think too much about it. You'll really work out the whole 30 minutes as you are able. Overall I'd say that the experience has been very safe and effective.

I've worked with Jason for personal training on 2 occasions. He listens to your needs, completes a thorough health assessment and works on the areas you need improving. Jason has been working with me to get into better physical condition. We are beginning our third week of MWF exercises. Jason is a dedicated personal trainer who pays close attention to identifying my weaknesses and addresses them with specific workouts tailored to my needs. Although we have only been working a couple of weeks, I have noticed a difference in my range of motions and some gains in strength. The things that I benefit most from having Jason guide me are motivation to workout on a schedule and providing me a pace that is a degree of challenge but injury free. These are my most important issues. I can tell that there is room for more improvement and more challenging exercises are in store as I progress.
