If you value quality in any form, work out somewhere else! There’s MANY reasons why there’s they have this number of 1 star reviews. My first impression of this gym is that it’s dirty. In my experience with past gyms this one could use some work. Most of the machines on top level don’t work, or if they do, they function at a sub par level with buttons malfunctioning constantly. I went on a weekend once at night and walked in to find no one at the counter! I later was informed that they only work Monday through Friday leaving it unattended on the weekends. As a young woman it was a bit of a fearful experience as the locker room has no door and without attendants who’s stopping anyone (with or without a membership) from entering. On top of everything I called recently to ask about how to cancel my membership and they told me that I needed to send a certified LETTER, yes a LETTER, to some random business in Arizona! I found this incredibly shocking and could only see this going poorly for myself, as the employee told me they’ve had lost letters before and people charged months after they mailed it. After a simple 10 minute Call to ABC fitness solutions (the company where I was supposed to mail my letter) a representative canceled my membership with ease. Which leads me to believe that Retro Fitness management is instructing their employees on this crazy round about way of cancellations to force costumers to pay for more months as letters are being ‘lost in the mail’ or whatever they have you believe.Anyway I will say the in person customer experience is good I’d say, the employees seem happy and generally helpful. They do also offer some neat services I hadn’t seen before. All in all if you want a good gym experience go elsewhere. And if you fell into the trap like myself just CALL and cancel before wasting time and money on a letter. I hope management improves and does better as id love to use the gym that’s SO close to where I live but enough is enough:(

The place is kept clean and I love the equipment they have there. Review update after being a member for 3 years: The staff isn’t what it used to be

By far the worst experience , I been trying to cancel my membership since April. I dropped off two letter. Call to speak to both managers Nancy and Harold. Till now I haven’t received a phone call.Left several messages, one of their colleagues Yesenia called to collect payment. She said she would let them know of the situation and still haven’t received a phone call.Send out a certified letter to corporation and now they are telling me my account is on hold for a cancellation but now I have to pay $100+ .After trying to cancel since April and been paying my membership. It’s ridiculous.Bad customer service.I can’t believe it’s taken 5 months to cancel this membership. And if you don’t pay you will be send to collections FYI.

Like many people before me mentioned, the canceling process is terrible.I brought in the signed letter (mandatory) announcing my cancelation. They kept billing me until I showed up and asked questions. They only then told me they lost my letter but would look into it.Nothing got done for months until they finally decided to cancel my membership, no money has yet been refunded. With so many alternatives, stay away from this place.

Great gym, amazing environment. The staff here is super friendly and never mind helping you out. I have been coming here for over 1 year and I love it.

great facility all around. I see some negative reviews but to be honest just a bunch of Karens that leave those. great equipment that is never broken and pretty clean facility. bang for your buck in terms of monthly charge

You get what you pay for. Majority of treadmills are out of service. Wi-Fi never works. They have TVs on the wall that are turned on but not displaying anything. However it’s cheap and usually empty.

Do not sign a contract with this gym unless you are willing to stay there for life. I have tried to cancel my membership with them in person several times but the manager is never available.

I’ve been going to Retro fitness for a few years now and overall I think it’s a great value for all that they offer. There is plenty of equipment/ free weights to choose from, a movie room for doing cardio, childcare, classes, a protein shake bar, convenient hours and trainers are readily available for questions. I also like that you get points for activities that can add up to prizes- it’s a nice incentive! I rarely go when it’s crowded so there is ample space and I rarely have to wait for equipment. The only downside I would mention is that, on days when it’s busy or you’re there during a class time and the studio is taken, it can be difficult to find open space if you want to lay a mat down and do a workout with free weights. A majority of the gym is taken up by equipment which causes the open spaces to feel cramped and not inviting to lay a mat down. Overall, though, Retro is a great gym and I’d recommend it to anyone!

I typically don’t leave reviews but I am floored by my experience with this gym. Three months ago I dropped off a cancellation in PERSON, Only to learn two months later that my membership is still active! I was not charged for the month following the cancellation which led me to believe that all was fine, but here we are. I have called multiple times and now live out of state and was told they would do me a favor and put my account on hold…. HOLD? I literally canceled it so that should have been the solution offered. Like other reviews, they are stating that they don’t have a record on file of my letter. It’s not the money but the principal. I did my part as a member for over a year in paying and canceling per my contract. It’s a shame there is a gap on their end…. Would not recommend bc of that amongst other things like their kids club rarely being staffed during the hours offered…it’s definitely put horrible taste in my mouth about Retro Fitness Gyms
