I had not done yoga before, but decided to try it since I heard it was relaxing and would help with muscle tightness since I workout frequently. Charlotte Family Yoga was more than I expected...great atmosphere, really friendly staff, and not over-populated. In addition to wanting to gain flexibility, the mental relaxation and peace I received from taking the class was priceless. I now try to meditate everyday and yoga once a week. I highly recommend this studio, you won't be disappointed at all!

I love this place! I went to my first class 4 years ago and never left. I was a mess when I first started but now I am much stronger and healthier in mind and spirit. I love both the heated and warm classes. I have also attended many different workshops that have helped me improve my chaturanga (low plank) and I even tried things I never thought I would, like headstand! I always feel great after class! This place is not just a yoga studio. It is a community of great supportive people. I have tried other places but I never felt as welcomed as I do here. I bring my kids along sometimes and they are also welcomed (10 & 14 year old boys).

From the moment I stepped into Charlotte Family Yoga Center, I felt welcome. It is a center where the students are consistently priority #1. All the teachers are gracious and truly interested in the well being of every person entering the studio and attending classes. Not to mention, CFYC has offerings for everyone with variety of classes, kids yoga and workshops. In the two years I have been going to CFYC, there has not been a desire for me to attend any other studio because the environment, classes and teachers at the studio are wonderful!

I have had the opportunity to watch this center grow and mold into what it is today. I don't do yoga alot but when I do I travel out of my way to go to CFYC. I love the instruction and how the teacher isn't practicing but instead assisting. It makes a huge difference. I always feel welcome and I love that sometimes the classes are full. The power you feel being in a full room, sweating like crazy and everyone breathing as one is something you have to experience. I enjoy the lavender rags at the end. It makes the everything you just did so much more worth it.

After finally venturing outside of my home in order to build my beginning practice, I have found another home at CFYC. As a previous reviewer mentioned, it is completely down to Earth and rooted in the values of growth, family, and community. Free of the pretensions of other studios (and I have tried a couple), the incredibly warm and experienced teaching staff don't treat "modification" as if it is a dirty word, encouraging beginners and challenging more advanced yogis alike.CFYC is certainly a safe haven for growth and escape, to get out of mind and into the body-to be present on the mat. The experience begins the moment you walk into the building and up the stairs into the studio as divine aromas-sometimes lavender, sometimes another musky, warm scent-immediately helps me to turn my brain off and prepare myself for the practice ahead. The space itself is beautiful and always spotlessly clean. Although I do not have children myself, I think the fact that CFYC offers free child care while moms and dads practice is a testament to the values that they espouse. This studio has excellent class variety offered on an accessible schedule; speaking of accessibility, all classes are $8 on "Freaky Fridays" and other $8 drop in rate classes are provided throughout the week. There truly is something for everyone at CFYC!If none of the above is convincing enough, you KNOW a studio is awesome when an instructor sends you a hand written thank you note to welcome you after your first class. THAT is sincerity and community building at its finest!

I started my yoga practice today at Charlotte Family Yoga Center. Everything about it was wonderful! My best friend and I purchased a Living Social Deal and the staff have been so helpful. Being the ambitious young women that we are, we started our practice today with one of the more intense classes. Even though we were struggling at some points our instructor and fellow classmates where very encouraging. I am excited to continue my practice and believe that I will continue coming to CFYC even after my Living Social Deal has expired. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

$5 classes all day Friday, and one on Saturday and Sunday! I look forward to going each time.
