As a child educator myself, I can not say enough great things about USK Karate. They provide a loving environment for students to learn and mature. The instructors are professional, encouraging and excellent with the children. They've set themselves far above the rest. Highly recommended. They are the best!

My daughter and I have been training at USK for more than a year and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences we've shared. Not only do they offer a curriculum that caters to both young and old, but they also guide you through every level of your development as a student of martial arts. We highly recommend USK Karate Academy to anyone interested in learning martial arts.

Last October my son joined the special needs class at USK Karate Academy. We signed him up not knowing what to expect, given my son's daily struggles with autism including severe speech deficits. We knew the goals of discipline, focus and concentration, improving eye contact, following direction, learning how to do team work etc. were all the tools my son needed to help him gain more self confidence, teach him to follow instructions and hopefully succeed at learning these skills which he so desperately needs in his life. Over the past months my husband and I have seen an incredible leap forward which we would have never imagined in a million years given all the autism drawbacks. The USK Karate staff has been amazing and so dedicated. They know how to handle the off moments and get him right back on track. As we all know, not every day is a good day, but the staff's persistence has certainly paid off for my son. He is not only following direction, partaking in the class that he obviously is understanding the simple dynamics, but is even starting to say commands and repeat as the rest of the class. Of course this is beyond our wildest expectations given what we would have expected from our son. I hope that other parents who hesitate to even think of considering karate for their child because of their special needs issues, should know that USK Karate is the place to come. Your child will be given an "IEP" with goals and achievement recognition. No matter what your child's abilities are USK Karate will make the difference in their lives. Seeing is believing. And most importantly my son is ALWAYS excited and ready to go to his Karate class. That's the best testament yet! Thanks to all of the staff at USK KarateYou are the best!! Teresa and Manny Badillo

My son has been a student at USK Karate for over one year. The staff is outstanding, they are concerned about their students beyond Karate. They take a genuine concern over the development of the student relating to social development, good citizenship, and behavior at home and school. If you are looking for a location to learn just Karate, this is not for you. But if you are looking to learn Karate and develop into a quality person, then this place is for you.Again Kudos to the staff, and Director David Alvas for their caring and understanding in the development of young people, they are to be commended.

When I first found USK Karate Academy in 1995 I was a shy teenager with some balance and coordination issues (due to growing consistently taller every year without pause). Over the years my coordination and balance have improved vastly and I'm certainly not as shy as I used to be. In fact, I've spent several years teaching at the school and other places, something I never would have dreamed of earlier in my life.Training at USK has many more benefits than just exercise and physical skills. There is a family atmosphere that isn't found in many places these days. I wouldn't trade my years of training and experience for anything imaginable. If you are even remotely interested in martial arts, I encourage you to check out USK Karate Academy. The instructors and staff there all have years or decades of training, and are there because they love sharing their knowledge and experience with others. It's amazing what they have helped both children and adults achieve over the years, and I'm proud to be a part of such a positive influence in the lives of so many.
