The facilities have an assortment of equipment to use. Free weights and to free motion machines. In addition to the machines and weights, they also have an indoor track that is great for when the weather is not so good outside. This club also has two indoor pools, a cool dip, a spa, a dry suana, indoor racquet ball courts, gymnastics room, and a wet suana. Lastly, they offer fitness classes and offer massages (additional cost). Child care while you work out is also available. I will continue membership as I feel it has good value for price.

Very poor service. I left today depressed as they literally made me and my 2 yr old get out of the pool within 30 seconds of us entering. This is in the context of me being super pregnant. They told me I had to take my baby into the adult pool which was way too cold for us with a temp in the mid 70s. They could not accommodate us despite other people in a class asking the instructor (who was very rude to us) to let us stay in the corner. So if you’re wanting a place to take your little one to swim please don’t join this gym unless you want to invest in a wetsuit :((( how ridiculous. I will update this review if they decide to change their policy.

This is by far the largest gym in Corpus Christi. It has everything you need and more. It is a great place for kids. It's always clean and very quiet. They have a great weight area and cardio section. More than a few tennis courts plus an indoor track. They have a large pool with a Jacuzzi, a steam room and a dry sauna. It is rather expensive but the members are always polite and you won't run into any angry annoying meat heads.

We've been using the Athletic Club for almost 20 years. Staff is always friendly, classes are great. They are constantly upgrading. Our family enjoys the indoor track and both swimming pools. I like the steam room, sauna, and spa.

I vacation down in the Corpus Christi area. I was able to get a temporary pass for the week for about $35. For what they offer at the gym it is well worth the price. I really enjoyed the spin classes. It is a huge facility. I only gave 4 stars because I wanted to try the Body Pump class but the instructor didn't ask if there were any new participants. I was left to figure it out on my own so I ended up not taking the class. It was a little intimidating, but in the spin classes the instructors asked if there were any new people and they helped me set up my bike. Depending on what you're looking for in the way of a workout, check this club out and see if it's right for you. I will definitely come back next time I'm on vacation.

Pool was just nasty......has algae growing on the bottom and water is green and untreated, changing rooms for the men are closed so you have to go all the way to the bathroom out in the treadmill area. i have a pool and i know how a pool should look and how easy and cheaply you can keep it crystal clear and free of algae....and i do believe this is a violation of city code to have algae in the pool (• Automatic sanitizer dispenser• Free chlorine Bromine• pH (7.0 – 7.8)• DPD test kit• No algae• Water clear – main drain visible• Operational logs) city public health regulations..... this violates many of city regulations and codes....this must be fixed before i ever go back.

Not that great for the price. The YMCA downtown in Austin is nicer. The arrangement of the rooms is strange. Hasn't changed in 20 plus years. Most recently they have kept charging our bank account for a membership that we cancelled months ago. Corpus deserves better.

The athletic club is pretty amazing... classes every day, all day. Several swimming options (pool, lap pool, hot tub, cold dip), tennis and racket courts, countless machines, jogging track made from special flooring and services like personal training, massages, ect.Good great hours, too, they open really early in the morning and stay open through the evening. Also, they did some remodeling and it's really pretty!

CRAZY EXPENSIVE FOR AVERAGE FACILITIES - If you like 1970's decor and want to pay $70 a month for the membership fee plus a 75 cent charge every time you use a locker, then this is the place for you.If you're like me and go to the gym three days a week, that's an annual cost of $996 dollars or $83 a month. You get a discount if you work for an oil company, but no discounts are offered to church employees. And if the huge monthly fee that doesn't even include a locker isn't enough, you have to play for racquetball and tennis courts during peak use periods. These prices are higher than some really high-end athletic clubs in Houston that are much nicer.

My comments are not about the front line staff or the facilities. It has to do with management. I had been a member at least 4 years, always prepaid my annual dues along with my locker. I recently had some health issues and decided not to renew my contract which expired at the end of April. About a week before the expiration date I stopped by to confirm my membership would cease at the end of April. I was told that I had to give 30 days notice, even though my contract ended at the end of April. I was told I would be billed for May. I protested and the staff member offered to go to management to see if they would waive the 30 day requirement. I received a phone call stating they would waive the 30 requirement. It has been 60 days and still being billed. Today, when I stopped at the club I was given the runaround. If you join be sure to delete the provision in the contract that requires a 30 day notice.
