BEWARE! Read the fine print on your membership agreement regarding cancellation. First, you are required to show up in person, then you are required to fill out a multi question form, then they may allow you to cancel and stop incurring fees. My situation did not allow for me to be at the Y location, so after a significant amount of "discussion" I obtained the cancellation form and provided it electronically. I sent my first email requesting cancellation in early June, again mid-July and several more afterwards to finally get the account cancelled on 9/4 (continuing to incur fees during this entire timeframe!). While the facilities are new and outstanding, the policies are antiquated and disingenuous and the customer service is abysmal.

Best YMCA in the Dayton area. This is the newest branch. A Dayton YMCA membership gets you access to all area YMCAs, but this one is my preferred location. Can be crowded around 5 pm. Closes early on Sundays. Should have been built 2x the size, I'm often waiting for machines. Haven't used the pool yet because it just seems so small and built for laps and classes, not so much for recreation.

Honestly, for those of you that knew the old gym, it was waaay better. It was more of a gym and less of a “health club”. The new Y really caters to the older crowd. Now, they seem to be more about money and less about the people. There’s A LOT of college kids that have no gym etiquette, people hog equipment & will take yours when you’re still using it, and they recently started giving my fiancé & I trouble about our daycare hours. Another thing that bothers me is there is NO SAUNA! How do you upgrade a gym from the old one (which had a sauna) and not include a sauna? Also, a major issue is equipment... I’ve never been to such a big gym with one squat rack, one leg extension, one leg press, etc. Whoever budgeted the gym, really designed it for the classes. If I had to think of a positive, it would be that the daycare girls are pretty good with my kid. I will most likely be changing gyms in the near future. There are just too many cons. And in response to the owners comment, in regards to child care, when management tells you one thing then changes it, that is very unprofessional. Also, there is one squat rack, one Smith machine (which is a smith machine, not a squat rack), a leg press (not sure if that’s what you’re calling a “loaded squat rack” cause I’ve never heard of that terminology), and a rack in the crossfit room which is usually inaccessible in the AM bc you have classes in that room. Not sure why there are classes in the “CrossFit” room when there’s MULTIPLE other rooms to have them in.
