Said the r word, got yelled at by the front desk twice...

Why do they have to close down nearly every pool in the area at the same time for cleaning and repairs.

NO Sauna in a brand new facility. and an excess of stair-steppers and elliptical. Decision to not include Sauna most have been made by someone who never uses it. Question should have been put to "Y" members

I love the new Y and everything about it but the employees are so rude!! The front desk lady with gray curly hair is also so rude to me and isn’t helpful. She makes it seem like I’m such a inconvenience. When adding my sisters to my family plan ( they live with me!) she told me she’d only add one that I need proof they actually live with me. I’ve never had to show proof anywhere else and if she wasn’t such a bit** about it I wouldn’t have a issue. We’ve gone their several times and she’s always the rudest to us. If it continues I will just get a gym membership elsewhere. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Where do I start. Their is one front desk lady who glared at me when I asked for the family restroom key to take my FAMILY in for the swimming pool. Like I committed an atrocity. Then we go into the pool and the "lifeguards" are in there doing sign language to one another while staring at my boyfriend and our children and smirking. So judging much?? This isnt the first time either, the last time my boyfriend and I swam by ourself their was one particular young man staring at us who was there this time aswell, also smirking. Staff is very mediocre for someone who pays 50 dollars a month for a family membership. Needless to say. Very un impressed with staffing. Unless it's the daycare staffing. We love them and the boys do to. So excellent staffing job with the daycare ladies they always make the experience of dropping off our boys pleasant and we feel safe and comfortable doing so.

I LOVE the Y. My family and I signed up before new one was open and went to Kettering before it opened. The childcare Y at Xenia is understaffed though, I love the girls in there but they are overwhelmed(I would be too, with that volume of kids to adult ratio). When signing up, I was told that this was a trained staff that teaches and encourages a child's development in a family setting. My 2 year old son not even 2 and half got written up (behavior report)for "disrespect toward staff and not following directions". Comments saying, "Throwing toys across room, refusing to sit in time out, pulling shirt up and not putting it down, smiling/ laughing while not following directions, running". I'm a little confused by my 2 year old disrespecting the staff, can a 2 year disrespect a an adult? As an educator myself, I work on rewarding positive behavior, I agree with not throwing the toy because it could hurt someone. Toy should have been taken away and when he is given another chance and plays with them in a correct manner he should have been told "I like the way you are playing with the toys". The whole running and smiling, he is 2 and probably thought they were playing when they put him in a time out(he has no clue what time out is yet but will now be working with him). The lifting shirt up...he chews on his shirt and fools around with his tummy out for someone to poke it are they thinking he is doing something inappropriate. These are all behaviors of a typical 2 year old. I feel like I need to repeatedly say he is 2 and 2 year olds act like this. I'm now afraid to bring him back to the Xenia Y in fear he will be written up and told not to come back because he does need some work in playing in a group setting.*I did ask if I could go in and watch him play so if he did throw a toy, I could immediately correct the behavior and they said parents aren't allowed back(I agree with that rule but that is what a 2 year old needs).

I love the new Y most of the equipment is new and very easy to use and understand. I tend to go at the busiest time of the day, between 5 and 6 and there are still plenty of equipment to use. Also the Wifi is fast so that helps when I am working out and watching Netflix. The pool and locker room facilities are very well maintained and for a gym, it always smells clean! Kind staff, great atmosphere, inexpensive mbrshp!

New location just opened January 2nd! Great partnership with Central State University and Clark State Community College at the side of the building where people can go to take classes.
