The instructors are nice and very helpful. They took the time to help each student with anything they were having trouble with.

This class was a great experience! Stewart was very professional and extremely informative. He took his time explaining the different laws and was patient with us at the gun range. I will definitely be coming back to him for more education and experience.

Apologies for the long review but I couldn’t find any reviews from someone in my position so I thought I’d write one in case there is someone like me who is on the fence.I’m 9 months postpartum with my first baby. I’m also 5 feet tall with no experience at all with Krav or Kickboxing - in fact my lifestyle has mostly been sedentary. I had looked at the Triangle Self-Defense weekly classes many times but was intimidated. I decided to do a free trial class and ended up signing up for the membership - it was hands down the best decision I made this year for all of these reasons:- Instructors are professional, respectful, knowledgeable and encouraging - they truly love what they do- This is a very safe environment- The nicest facility and people out of all the training schools I toured in the area- They are not pushy about signing up at all - the owner, Stewart, is so passionate about what he does and sharing it with others who want to learn. He was so kind and understanding and just totally relaxed. No hounding emails, texts, calls asking to sign up at all unlike some of the other training schools in the area where I encountered this- Extremely affordable for an individual or for a family- They offer a free trial class!- Multiple types of programs to aid in self defense for real world scenarios- No egos here at all - first time mom doing classes with so many extremely talented instructors and advanced students and I didn’t feel shamed by anyone. Was I intimidated because of my lack of skills? Of course, but you have to start somewhere. Advanced students also help the newer students and the instructors do an incredible job of working with many skills levels in the fundamentals class- You are genuinely encouraged and welcomed here. These are good to their core kind of peopleI just completed my first week of back to back classes! I read an article by NPR about how physically active mothers had a significant impact on the activity level of their children and that’s what inspired me to be committed. But I knew I had lucked out from the moment I got off the introductory phone call with Stewart. It’s truly the skilled instructors, passionate/welcoming community, and their love for teaching others that sets Triangle Self Defense apart from every other training school in the area. You’ll only wish you joined sooner.Stewart, thank you.

This class was awesome. I was at beginner level of firearm knowledge/handling and when I left class that day I had gained so much information and was so confident in wanting to learn more. Stewart ( the instructor) is very good at explaining everything so that you understand no matter what your knowledge base is. I was in a class with people that had firearm backgrounds and some like my self that had none and he kept the class engaged as a whole. On the range he was just as efficient. This is where I was super nervous but he and the staff there are so patient and helpful you get comfortable with the drills. You can tell that they care a great deal about their job, the seriousness that comes with firearms and the people that they are sending out into the world with this knowledge. This is something I have wanted to do for years so glad I finally did will remember it for forever Thank you.

I’m so glad I took the concealed carry class. I learned a lot within the classroom and at the shooting range. I highly recommend this class to anyone that’s a first time shooter.

Great class with an educated obviously experienced teacher. Stewart was as focused on safety and legal education as he was on basic self defense tactics and proper handling techniques. Would highly recommend.

I'm an U.S. Army Airborne Veteran qualified expert in Rifle, Grenades, Machine guns, and Artillery, (1st Battalion, 321st Field Artillery Regiment; Fort Bragg, N.C.) yet, I was surprised that the Guns 101 course offered insights into my draw, grip and concealed carry considerations I'd never taken into mind being Active Duty. I'd recommend this Guns 101 course for anyone from beginner to an experienced veteran wanting some pointers and new to concealed carry in the civillian world. I brought my wife who is relatively new to shooting and the training staff was excellent in teaching her both the basics and some additional techiniques for target aquisition I didn't have the knowledge/experience to teach her using her new SIG P365 X Macro 9mm with a red dot sight.

Safe and enjoyable learning environment. We had a group of 9 students for a private class and everyone had a great time while improving our skills.
