The Everett Family YMCA offers a modern facility with a wide array of amenities like a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and various group classes. Many users praise its kid-friendly environment and the diversity of activities available for both adults and children alike. The location on Colby Ave is convenient for many, and the space is well-maintained.
However, some patrons have raised concerns about the inadequacy of the locker rooms, occasional rude staff, and specific maintenance issues in areas such as the moldy smell in the women’s locker room and broken equipment. These concerns suggest there is room for improvement in safety protocols and overall customer service.

The facility is increasingly dirty...especially the treadmills and workout machine bases are covered in hair, dust and sweat. Post pandemic it's very concerning to see how little attention is paid to having a clean facility. We pay a lot of money per month to use the YMCA...very disappointing.

I am so disappointed with my experience at the Everett family YMCA. I grew up going to the ymca and recently got a membership less than a year ago. I decided I wanted to start swimming again and left my two young children in the kids zone. They asked where I was going to be and put on the back of their sticker aquatic center when we checked in. I went swimming for 30 min then got ready and went to go get the kids. When I arrived my daughter was crying and the girl who was in the kids zone told me “she was crying the whole time, we tried to call you ten times but you didn’t answer” I responded that I was in the pool swimming so I didn’t have access to my phone and that I told them I was going to be swimming. She then proceeded to tell me that my child was crying so bad she almost threw up and that they didn’t have enough staff to come and grab me. The way she was talking to me was so judgmental and made me uncomfortable. It was a big concern for me after that because why would they not have enough staff for them to be able to take care of the children properly, big red flag. I was very upset with the way the situation was handled. They should not have more kids then they can handle in the kids zone and if a child is hysterically crying to the point of almost vomiting the parent should be aware whatever the circumstances are. What disappoints me even more is that I tried calling the ymca on several occasions to address the situation with no answer and the mail box is full. I went in person to address the situation and one lady just brushed it off and there was another lady who was very sweet and wrote down the whole incident and said she was going to give it to the person in charger. I waited a couple days and did not hear back. So I called the ymca again and someone gave me the number of the person in charge of that department. I called and left a voicemail and still have not heard anything in response in days. I am a very understanding person but the way the situation was handled all around was very infuriating to the point where it is unredeemable. I will be cancelling my membership. Oh and on top of everything. They charged me $70 extra dollars this month… This place is literally called the FAMILY ymca and I do not feel safe leaving my kids there.

Had some growing pains when they first opened, complicated by a pandemic, complicated by staffing, complicated by some grumpy patrons. But through it all they stay positive. Keep it up!

I have been bringing my daughter here since January for swim lessons. Prior to COVID and since the kids were babies we had been going to forest park pool. The instructors at the YMCA are immature and rude to the kids. They don't interact with kids at all. They barely instruct them on swim, rather just yell at them from the side of the pool. There have been no instructions on stroke corrections. The administration accidentally connected my credit card to another person's account which took 6 weeks to figure out and correct. I ended up cancelling the card because I was worried it was still connected to the wrong account. Also the lifeguards sit at the edge of the pool chatting to one another instead of doing their jobs. The new pool director is working hard to fix things but I don't see much improvement yet. City of Everett needs to re open Forest Park Pool. Until then we are going to make the trip to Lynnwood.

Limited daily pool time. I was told 2 hour limit per day. The call back help was laughable. She honestly was told she made no sense at first. Even if I pay cash to enter I'm only allowed to be in the kiddy area 2 hours a day. I won't pay money to be watched over like a child. If you need rules like that to keep order, it's sad. It should be first come first serve and no limits if people are willing to pay high fees. Come pay a fee and 2 hours is enough. Gag. Back in Corning Ny, I could spend all day at the ymca and no issue was ever had. The fact my kids won't have what I had is beyond sad.

Was told I was wearing proper attire for the dress code according to the staff, Gale, but they still continue to sexualize my body and recommend me to wear something “loose” or “covering” for my “safety” of “distracting” the men in the gym. I think their side talk they had with me was very unprofessional and unprovoked. If you truly cared about the safety of the women in the gym you would’ve approached the men and not make women the problem. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN.

Yes this is a very "nice" YMCA, based on being new and clean looking. However, there are a lot of areas that need to be improved on. This Y is in the city with the largest population in Snohomish County, but it is NOT walking distance or bus-friendly from downtown. I tried taking my son on the bus from several stops and it is a lot of sidewalkless sketchy areas to walk with a kid to. On the weekends, you can never get into the pool for open swim. The locker room always smells SO funky and the anti-slip mats in there have hard edged circles that hurt to stand on. The sauna and steamroom are not gender segregated, which I partially understand, especially if a couple wants to use together, however for me I like it better when it just for women accessed in locker room. The plus side is they have more childcare hours than some other branches.

***Edit***I have since been contacted by the YMCA and given a refund of the classes unattended as well as an apology and promise that they are working to get the children’s pool open for swim classes. Adjusting my rating from a one star to 2 since it was still a poor and sad experience.DO NOT COME HERE FOR INFANT/TODDLER SWIM LESSONS!!! Was not made aware there was a lifeguard shortage and therefor classes would be in the regular pool instead of the warm kids pool. My daughter (and husband) was FREEZING to the point of her lips turning blue and their advice was “if their lips turn blue take them out.” She was crying almost the entire time and was not the only one, one kid had to leave early. We had hoped it was a one off since we were told classes would be in the warm pool, but found out during class 2 that they didn’t have enough lifeguards to cover both pools. This should have been clear upfront when purchasing the 8 class package or not offered at all. I have now found out every other swim school has a 90 degree pool for comfort. I should have done more research. Since we attended class 2 they will not offer a refund or even a credit so we are out $144 for two traumatizing classes. I really hope she does not have a fear of water forever after this. SHAME ON YOU YMCA!!

Love my local YMCA. Everyone always greets me with a smile. Really appreciate how during pandemic they stayed open and kept a safe & clean environment. I Love the pool even though schedule is rough during the day since lots of classes & high school swim meets take up the lanes & make it hard to access the pool but I am hoping there will be adjustments soon. Thank you to all the wonderful hard working employees here. It’s a nice community in Everett. Happy to be a part of it.

The park just opened this summer (2022) and it's so fun!! The it bummer is no shade or outside bathroom. The park is open to the public, no YMCA membership needed
