Clean, new gym. Uncrowded in mid-day, friendly staff, and good routes (weirdly, with no route names--whaaaa?). You'll pay a whopping $17, but it's worth it if you can't climb actual rock. I recommend it.

Ascent is a solid commercial climbing gym that caters to a variety of clientele from beginners to seasoned climbers. The quality of the setting is high and is thankfully devoid of ego-boosting softness that dominates much of the indoor climbing scene. As a result, many problems/routes are interesting and thoughtful and seem appropriate for the terrain. The variety of angles is also a selling point for Ascent as you can boulder slabs, caves, or barely overhanging walls and then rope up for overhangs, tall dead-vertical walls, or short punchy routes. If memory serves there are 6 auto-belays that provide solo climbers the ability to climb routes without a partner.Ascent includes a great deal of training equipment including a wall with an adjustable angle, a systems wall, and several varieties of campus boards. Additionally, there are 4 different hangboards tucked away on the ground floor. Finally, there are free weights, stationary bikes, and treadmills for cardio and warm ups/cool downs. It's worth noting that Ascent isn't perfect, but considering what it offers I feel justified in a five-star rating. I've climbed in enough gyms to know what I appreciate and Ascent is definitely appreciable.

Came in to climb on Wednesday Mar. 1st. Girl behind the desk was obnoxious and seemed to need to "show off" during the orientation. I've been climbing for a long time and have been to multiple gyms all around Colorado. Have never had to sit through a 30 minute orientation to get on a wall. I had an hour and half to climb and she wasted so much of my time. I completely understand needing to go over safety but 30 minutes is way over the top. I will not be coming back and will warn others to stick to Inner Strength or Miramont.

New climbing place with nice equipment. Orientation was easy and quick. It wasn't over crowded and has a family friendly atmosphere. I recommend filling out their waiver online before for first visit.

The gym itself is great from what I'm told & what I saw the other day. Went for the 1st time to see my 7 yo granddaughter in her 1st climbing competition. Ended up being a rip off as they did not have a separate judging for kids. So they rated them against all the adults. No one would have paid for their kids to enter if they had known that. Which is probably why they didn't tell anyone.

This is a great gym with a good variety of routes -- bouldering, top-rope, and lead climbing alike. Routes are changed up regularly. There is a great training area, too. Just be aware, it does get busy in the evenings M-Th.

The gym itself is amazing, great job on the facility. My wife and I visited with our children to share the afternoon climbing. The gentlemen that assisted our children with their gear was very impatient and wasn't very helpful. He then visited us at the wall my daughter was climbing some time later, and proceeded to talk in a fashion that was very discouraging to her. Needless to say, we did not feel very welcome at the gym, very disappointing visit with regards to the staff.

Ascent Studio is a fantastic gym. It has been a long time coming for Fort Collins, but we now have a wonderful, commercial quality, locally grown and funded climbing gym. The building design and wall layout is great with very little unused space and the wall colors as well as setting style (single color hold routes, no tape) makes the setting very inviting, clean, and inspirational. This facility is top notch and it’s great for experienced climbers and kids alike!!!

I think it is a great gym and it is also the only gym of this size in Fort Collins which gives them the ability to overcharge families. Almost every gym will charge a flat rate for families (on avg $150/myth) but this place charges $120 per couple and then $30 extra per child!!! For a family of 4 that is $180 and it goes up from there! I have been climbing for a long time and I would love to join but cannot justify paying $180 per month to take my 8 and 6 yr old with me to climb. If there is ever real competition this gym will lose families, until then they can continue to overcharge them.

This is easily the best place to climb in Northern Colorado. The route setting goes is fantastic, staff is friendly. Some people are adverse to the price of membership but when compared to other corporate gyms in Colorado (I.e movement Boulder, BRC, Earth Treks) its right in line with the pricing tier. Would recommend, great atmosphere, great everything. A near perfect gym!!
