This gym is HUGE!!Top over 200+ boulder problems, tons of auto belay walls, top ropes, leading, they have a full workout studio and yoga classes. Oh and a bar. Wow. Prices are great for what they offer.

Whetstone is a great place to climb and hang out. You get a great sense of community. The routes change often and are creative. The hangout areas keep the climbers climbing and the people who just want to hang out away from plugging up the walls.

This facility huge and it has some room to grow. Massively large, so large it's easy to spend hours here and never repeat a climb. A sizable weight training room, yoga studio, in house physical therapist, bar; the bivy, and a gear shop. Three different training boards, along with a full campus board with wood rungs. All climbs are either top rope or can be climbed on lead, no auto belays which is something I think they could add in the future. Two very large boulders with hundreds of problems, at times it seems like the difficulty of climbs will leans to the harder side. There are easy to moderate climbs but a large percentage reside on the top end of the scale. Resets are nice because you can only repeat the same climbs so many times before they become boring.

Expansive facility with numerous walls of varying degrees. 5 auto belay walls available. Two different bouldering areas. Gear for sale, bar on site, food available. This was a fantastic afternoon spent with with family. We climbed every auto belay available and spent over 3 hours there. The atmosphere here is really great.

If you're a family with kiddos and deciding which gym to come to for afternoon of fun or a membership, choose Whetstone. We just spent 3hrs here and everyone was able to climb. There was something for my oldest at 14 and youngest at 5 and my 2 in-between. Belay and Bouldering! Prices are fair. For members there is a fitness room and bar. They offer a kids climbing club as well.

I have been rock climbing for about a year and a half now, and I can say this is the best gym I have experienced. The busiest times don't seem overly crowded, and the atmosphere there is great!

Amazing place with lots of new people to meet. I made a friend in the first week of going here and I’m a pretty extreme introvert. Everyone there is really kind and friendly. Have fun!

Love this place! Great environment. I've top roped, bouldered, and even gone to some yoga classes. I always feel welcomed, safe, and enjoy myself every step of the way!

I feel bad for leaving a critical review. I like Whetstone, but the only reason I still climb here is because the lead wall at Ascent is more crowded. The lead wall at Whetstone is usually wide open, which is great, but I think the setting falls short. I’ve been climbing on and off for 10 years and I worked as youth climbing coach in Denver. My gym high grade is 13b. The prow lead climbing at Whetstone in the 5.12-5.13 range is both frustrating and lacking creativity. It seems the theme of the difficult grades at Whetstone is making the climbs as tall and reachy as possible, and that is the only factor that goes into the harder grades. The only setter who consistently makes climbs that are creative and enjoyable for all heights is Xiao. You can tell which setters are setting for people with a 6 foot wingspan. The black 5.12- to the left of the prow set by Matt is a perfect example of a climb that is purely getting a 5.12 grade because it is reachy, not because it requires any complex movement or skill. My partner is 6’0 and he has remarked on the ‘reachy-ness’ of the lead wall climbs. Imagine how it feels for someone who is 5’0. I once chatted with the head setter at Earth Treks Englewood about his setting, which I found to be extremely accessible for all heights. He uses a measuring stick for setting. He told me that he believes height shouldn’t be the factor that makes a climb difficult; good setting is about creative movement and thought-provoking beta. I’m not saying the 5.12-5.13 climbing at Whetstone is impossible, but it is annoying and injury-prone when move after move is an unintended dyno. Übergrippen Denver is another gym who does their setting right. One of their primary setters is well over 6 feet, but he’ll watch shorter climbers do the routes and add in extra food chips or holds to accommodate. It honestly feels like a waste to be paying for a membership at Whetstone when I only enjoy climbs by 1-2 setters. I think Whetstone is a great gym for boulderers and kids, but for sport climbers it might be worth fighting the crowds at Ascent.

This place is AWESOME! Definitely the best climbing gym in the area - it's huge, has a great gym and a super neat little café corner. Great vibes and super fun routes.
