A friend was in town visiting for some climbing in Estes Park when rain changed our plans. We decided to hit up whetstone, and it was awesome! Andrew and the other staff were friendly, helpful and without ego. The routes were varied and interesting. The new facility is clean with a great vibe. We both remarked that even though our plans changed, we had so much fun that we didn't regret the rain. Stellar experience!

Facilities were great and it wasn't too crowded during peak hours. Staff was helpful, although novice. There needs to be a more affordable way to be able to take my kids climbing. Spending $50 for a couple hours of climbing with my kids is too much (all I did was belay but was charged full price/Ascent doesn't charge for belay only).

My daughter got the climbing bug when she was in junior high, and I was the lucky parent who could take her. That was a few years ago and in a different home city. One of the unexpected but totally awesome surprises for me was how welcoming and kind the climbing community can be. I am so grateful to have found the same thing here in Fort Collins at Whetstone. As I get older, I have come to realize more and more how important it is for us to have true play time with ourselves and with our loved ones. Whetstone offers a safe, welcoming environment to play and challenge yourself at your own pace. What I really love about climbing is that a beginner can have a totally exhilarating experience the first time! And you don’t have to be in great physical shape to start (though you maybe motivated to get stronger so you can conquer that boulder route that is haunting you in your dreams!). And there is plenty of room to grow and explore your capabilities. There are ample climbing routes with lots of lead rope. The boulder area is big. People of all shapes and sizes and skills. Family and kid friendly. Free coffee. Haven’t tried the yoga yet, but definitely will. Staff is super cool and helpful.

This place is amazing. I’ve truly found a place that gives me peace, purpose and focus all in one. I leave feeling refreshed and energized. The staff is considerate, helpful and friendly. The routes are challenging but doable and there is something for everyone from bouldering to lead climb! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a new hobby!

We brought a group of students to Whetstone for an field trip and experiential learning day. The facility is fabulous; clean, bright and inviting. It feels good to be there! Our instructors, Daniell, Dani, Logan and Kat were phenomenal -- knowledgeable and patient. I cannot compliment Whetstone enough, and Tilde especially, in how they worked with our school and our group to accommodate our unique needs and to be sure our new climbers had a positive experience. All fourteen students had a great day and want to come back to continue their growth and learning at Whetstone!

Awesome gym and excellent addition to the climbing community! Staff is super friendly, the place is spotless, and they are taking the necessary precautions for customers to be safe around covid. The place is huge and there is a lot of variety of climbing! I've been to many gyms around the country and this is on par with the best. They have also supported youth climbing through my work's Experiential Education program at The Matthews House, a local nonprofit. We are incredibly grateful for their staff facilitating climbing to the youth we serve! Thanks Whestone Climbing!!

Just joined but so far so good! Staff is friendly and helpful. Facility is beautiful. Lots of routes so no wait times even when the gym was busy on Sunday afternoon. Can't wait for my son to start Club and begin building his climbing crew. Thanks for the free belaying class for parents and day pass. Hubby and I had fun climbing some beginner routes. Haven't been on a wall in years. We'll do it again!

First visit. Took my kids (6, 9, 12), all of whom were first time climbers. The staff was so inviting, it removed all fear from all three...as well as myself. They provided just enough education to make it fun & safe from the start and now so much that you were overwhelmed.

I love Whetstone. They have so many walls to climb, tons of difficult rotating problems, and two beast bouldering rocks. They also have a small, all-inclusive gym and yoga studio. You will not be able to find a better climbing gym than Whetstone!
