Renzo Gracie - Fort Lauderdale

I started training jiujitsu about 9 months ago at Renzo Gracie Fort Lauderdale and I love this school. At first, I was a little intimidated by the idea of starting a new martial art at the age of 35. However, Professor Juan and Coach Mark as well as all of the upper belts at this academy have been beyond welcoming and helpful ever since I started. The gym itself is super clean, the people who train here are very friendly and it really makes you feel like you’re part of a family. I’m learning a lot, getting in a great workout, and making new friends. Very glad I found this academy and I would recommend this school to anyone looking to start or continue the practice of BJJ.

I’ve been training at an academy back in my hometown for over 2 years. It was really hard to start over and find a new place to train in south Florida. My plan was to come down and try a few different places and see what was a good fit. I ended up at Renzo Gracie Fort Lauderdale and realized that this was my new home. All of the professors are exceptional people and skilled practitioners that care about your growth. My fellow students and training partners were extremely welcoming and considerate. They made me feel accepted immediately. Whether you are a seasoned grappler looking to stay sharp or someone new who wants to learn a new skill set, this is the place to be.

I was working in FLL and schedule opened up just enough that I could fit in a class. I sent out a couple of last minute inquiries and Professor Juan responded with both a phone call and a text inviting me to join them. Normally I would say something about "high degree of customer service", but when someone seems to be a good person, customer service is just an outgrowth of personality. I really liked the vibe of the academy. Bonus, I was greeted by a really cool French Bulldog.

Great BJJ gym with an awesome staff! Juan is a truly gifted instructor with allot of passion! Can not go wrong at this academy!

My dad and I went here while we we were on vacation in Ft. Lauderdale and had an excellent experience. The atmosphere was a great place to train. Will be coming back whenever we have the opportunity to come back down.

Uniquely individualized and innovative approach to BJJ. If you want to learn and/or advance this is the place to go. Professor Juan and other teachers are as remarkable as the classes they teach. Highly recommended.

I blindly walked into this place and was met with nothing but awesome humans. I was quick to label this place as home for training, and everyone who trains there was quick to label me as part of the family.You can't beat the coaching - from Professor Juan and Professor Chambers to every other coach that dedicates their time to us. Look no further for an academy, this one is a rare gem.

I was interested in trying out jiu jitsu for a long time and heard about Professor Juan through a friend. He invited me to try out a class and it’s been an incredible experience and something I look forward to every week. Juan greets everyone with a smile and makes you feel welcomed from day one. The instruction is high level and questions are always throughly - the “why” behind a move is always explained. There are always higher level belts on the mats that are willing and able to help. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Renzo Gracie Ft. Lauderdale is one of the best. Family atmosphere with professors and coaches that go out of their way to help you achieve your goals. Whether that is preparing for competition or just to be better at Jiujitsu, they take the time to coach you on an individual basis. Highly recommended.
