Been coming here since it opened. The good: Price is lowest in town. They have most of the equipment you could want. Decent amenities for basic membership and often premium ones are available for free during special events. Most of the staff is friendly.Location is convenient and central to most of Gainesville. Always Open. Relatively well cleaned, ambient temperature is always pleasant. Majority of lost items get returned to lost and found. The bad: wait times can be very long even during non peak hours. No reasonable logistic system in place for folks waiting on equipment (e.g. no designated place to form a line for platforms or benches, which are frequently taken up, thus resulting in a supposed "first come first served" free for all which rewards whomever randomly walks up and claims the equipment first despite other folks having been waiting. This is a simple problem to fix.)Two sets of headphones left in my locker were not returned to lost and found. They randomly lock one of the doors frequently, often trying to enter the door closest to where you arrive becomes a futile exercise in frustration. Majority college age folks who don't tend to respect basic gym etiquette (But no lingering naked old men in locker room like GHFC) Clearly stated rules such as number of people allowed in the sauna at once or wearing a shirt on the gym floor are not enforced. Many of the staff members can be apathetic or even rude when responding to justified criticism regarding major issues. Several times I've made appointments with them over the phone only to come in and have no record of them being made when I get there, which is a frustrating waste of time. Wear and tear on equipment is pretty severe, resulting in required maintenance which often does not get done promptly. For example sauna was out of commission for over a month on numerous occasions. Most recently when it was repaired it's so hot that you can't even sit in there for more than 5 minutes or without your water bottle melting. The hot water in the showers gets tepid at best on a good day, and is frequently just cold. Most of the time the soap is not filled. Currently of the three non handicapped shower stalls only one has a door which is able to remain closed. They frequently advertise on Facebook for open house events where they encourage you to "bring a friend" but fail to state if the person has ever been a guest before they can never be a guest a second time. Resulting in an embarrassing scenario where you convince your friend to come work out with you, only to be turned away when you arrive, forcing both of you to abandon the workout you had to get psyched up and geared up for, which is frustrating to the point of resentment. The Ugly: Absolutely unacceptable issues such as the water fountain currently being so worn out it is only able to dispense about 10 Oz of water per minute. As the only source of water lines can form of up to a dozen people, making acheiving basic hydration take up a significant portion of precious gym time. I've asked when this would be remedied and been repeatedly given estimated completion dates weeks in the future, only for those assurances to not be met.The locks on the bathroom stalls are constantly broken or completely missing, making for a very awkward experience trying to go to the bathroom in privacy.A mysterious charge appeared on my bill, and while this was eventually corrected the amount of time and effort it required on my part to ensure it was corrected was far beyond what one could simply call burdensome. Can't imagine how bad canceling must bePlease don't respond to this review with some generic "Sorry to let you down/We'll Strive to do better" cut abd paste reply from the owner. It feels pandering to put sincere effort into a detailed criticism only to be met with such a lame pre-written one sentence response. This review is for potential customers to make an informed decision based on the detailed experiences of a person who has been a member since day one and utilizes the facility on a frequent and regular basis

Horrible experience. Went in to cancel account, they never canceled it. Called to find out why and they said I missed a payment. Made the payment and was told a cancellation was done right there. Then they bill my bank account for another payment after the phone payment was made. Run to another gym don’t walk. Gainesville Health and Fitness is much better !! I will be calling the Florida Attorney General about these scam artist

The management sucks. The place here is great lovely environment and no one bothers you. All college students who kind their business, but, horrible management. They charged me 200 dollars every month for a year for personal training I did not anttend and a half and lost about 2,500 dollars. When brought up, it was not solved and the bank had to be involved. Great gym tho.

The gym itself is fine, exactly what you'd expect. The equipment is nice and the staff is good.Be aware before you join that they engage in the annoying tactic of requiring people to come to the gym physically to cancel. You can sign up online, but not cancel. It's deliberately set up to make cancellation just inconvenient enough that you don't do it and put it off to the next month. They'll make all kinds of excuses as to why this is required, but it's all BS. It's just a way to extract more money from lazy or busy people. This is a typical tactic among gyms, so I'm not ragging on this location or business in particular. It's just something to be aware of.

Been a crunch member for over 2 years. Decided to switch this location as my home as I moved here. Since I switched, management has been the worst!!! Overcharged me for my membership, made me fight for weeks for my refund. Extremely rude on the phone and over email, barely responded. Overall, horrible experience. Instead of working out Im dealing with management having horrible customer service and ruining the experience. I hope the owner takes a look into how rude the employees are. I will say the facility itself is well kept and I enjoy the sauna feature.

do NOT make a membership here or at any crunch. the memberships are cheap but they make it impossible to cancel, especially when you move away. They require you to cancel at the crunch you signed up for. the employee’s are scam artists furthering the agenda of their corporate bosses as if they get paid when you are unable to cancel.

I came as a guest in December 2022. There was one shower broken in the men’s restroom and no hot water came back in January. Same thing no hot water came back in February now there is only two showers that work two of them is broken and no hot water. Unbelievable where is corporate and where is the health department? They should have hot water they should have their showers working. Where is the health department? This is really bad I am glad I have not signed up yet. Also looks like a lot of people are having problems with the contract. be careful guys I wouldn’t recommend this place even to my dog.

The sauna is never hot enough. It needs to be like 50F hotter. People spend way too long in there and pour water in the stones just try to warm it up. If it was cranked up to about 200f people would not spend as long in there not feel the need to pour water in the stones just to make it feel warmer. I’m in there almost every day and have spoken with many many people regarding this issue and not one has disagreed that it needs to me hotter.Additionally, it would be nice if they offered veteran discounts on their plans.

Great facility! Crunch has everything you need or want to get an awesome workout. It’s always nice to be greeted when checking in by Eric, who works at the front desk. He has a professional, positive, and upbeat attitude and personality which is a great asset to crunch fitness. Eric’s wonderful customer service is very much appreciated.
