I was hesitant (scarred really) about joining a jiu jitsu gym and didn’t know what to expect. I’m 40years old and was worried about getting hurt. I have 3 kids and my schedule is very tight but luckily Edge offers a 6am class so I couldn’t use that as an excuse not to join.. I decided to join with my 2 older sons so that we could do an activity together. Ive been coming to edge for a few months now and haven’t got injured due to safety being a priority here as well as having great training partners. The morning class is great for my schedule and I’m out by 7am unless I decide to stay a bit longer which I must say is huge because although the class technically ends at 7 Al doesn’t end the party right away and allows students to keep on rolling! Since I am getting older The main thing I wanted to improve was my cardio and I have noticed a major improvement in that area. Sure beats running on the treadmill! I learned a great deal more about jiu jitsu than I thought I would in the few months that I’ve been here thanks to the great instructors. It’s a challenging sport but a very fun one! I’m glad I joined and recommend it for anyone on the fence. You won’t regret it.

Had a great time training at EDGE!! I’m a beginner and I took a class with Alvin, who took the time to show me the proper form and technique. Everyone in the class was super friendly and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend to people of all ages and skill levels.

Competent, friendly gym with a focus on safety and technique. Al is great at finding the right balance between pushing us to improve our skills and fitness without sacrificing safety. The others training there reflect this training philosophy and style as well. Great morning class.Within a few weeks my fitness level has done gone up and I feel more and more confident to defend himself and implement the techniques I'm learning.

I'm a 40 year old guy who wrestled in high school and has been wanting to try bjj for years. A buddy of mine who's been a member of Edge had been bugging me for a while so I finally made my way there a little after 2020 started. I've loved it. Al, the owner, could not be more welcoming and helpful. He knows his stuff. The members are competitive but everyone wants everyone to get better and grow in the sport. No egos allowed. Even after a rib injury a few weeks ago (which has kept me from rolling), I still love being there and learning new things. If you've ever thought about getting into bjj, then this is the great place to start.

Just started training Jiu Jitsu a few months ago. EDGE is a great training center. Coaches are knowledgeable, encouraging, without ego and all of the students I have met and rolled with are genuinely good people. Everyone is helpful and it’s the right amount of competition and encouragement. Highly recommend!!
