Life Time is such a great gym that I have been a member here twice. After some budget issues the first time I had to cancel my member, and tried several gyms and could not find one that made me happy. So, I joined Life Time again and I plan of staying this time. This is the best gym in town. It is clean, has great staff, and is a fun place to workout. Finally a gym I actually want to go too!

No news on the floor tv's, "Snowflakes might melt"The outdoor pool is very kid friendly, the equipment in the gym is good and usually not much of a wait to use your favorite. The Kids play room is great however feed you kid before you go. They do not have a snack area or allow any food or drink. For the price this place should change some things. Now if you like it, this is a HOT gym and I am not talking about just the people. You will sweet like a pig, bring water the water fountains are few and used so often the water is rarely cool. They do not let the AC units blow between cooling cycles to give you a breeze so some times the place smells a lot like a gym.The signal on my phone is not that good inside the gym so i depend on there WiFi and its not dependable, especially during peak times. Over all I give it only 2 stars because you can get a lot more bang for your buck elsewhere, when our contract is up we will be going back to the Y.If you are single the women are VERY friendly...

We are members, and have been since a month after the club opened, and we like LifeTime a lot. Also, it is close to our house, so it is convenient.I have changed my review from 3 to 4 stars. Originally, I gave it 3 stars due to more limited Family Swim hours compared to the YMCA, but for the past 2 years they have stepped things up. You can now swim with children every day until 8pm, even on Sundays. Also, the summer slide hours now end at 7PM instead of ending previously at 6. We were YMCA members before Lifetime, and it is much more reasonably priced for a family of four like us. We were burned a few times at Lifetime where we went and the kids couldn't swim, but as I said for about the past two years they have simplified the family swim hours and now it is much better. Thanks for listening to feedback, Lifetime, you guys definitely rock and our family of four gets a lot out of our membership!

Best gym I've ever been to. As a previous 24 hour fitness, LA Fitness, and a few other small club members this is my favorite gym of all time. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the membership price. There's no other way around it, the gym membership is pretty damn expensive but at no point did I feel that I got ripped off. It's like buying a luxury car, you probably don't need all of the amenities and you'll be paying $$$ but you'll love every bit of it. The gym literally has EVERYTHING you'd want. Lots of free weights, tons of machines, a gazillion treadmills and elipticals, a basketball court, tennis courts, hot tubs, large indoor and outdoor pool with a big slide. There's also pilates, yoga classes (which are really good), spin class, and an outdoor tower which is kinda like a boot camp/crossfit thing. If you sign up for an independent pilates or yoga studio you're already paying $120/mo alone. The showers and changing rooms are also very clean and maintained. If you've been to a 24 hour fitness then you'd know the locker rooms are a mess, smell, and I wouldn't want to ever shower in there. Everything about the gym is top notch and there's so much variety. Not to mention there is a cafe and salon/spa as well.As I said before, it's not cheap and I wish it was closer to $60-70/mo (I was paying nearly $90) but I did not feel bad about paying that much given how top notch everything was. If you can afford it or somehow get an employee or insurance discount definitely sign up for this gym. You won't regret it.

I have 3 children under the age of 11 and always feel good about the amount of safety and supervision that the team of lifeguards provide while we are at the pool. Their professionalism is top notch. Even today as I questioned a policy one of the lifeguards, Carrie, kept her cool and responded appropriately. She, her supervisor and the other life guards should be commended for a job well done. Thank you!

I have been using lifetime for several months now and I love it! I even started a business membership for all of the staff at my small business that gives them discounted membership prices.... and they love it. Lifetime is the most upscale luxurious gym I have been to and you do get what you pay for. The staff has all been great- Jamie at the door, Brandon- helping me get our staff signed up, the swim instructors and Colleen who cares for the locker rooms. I was even able to visit the Lifetime in Manhattan and I must say, I love the vestavia location more! Talk to your employers about a business membership. It will reduce the cost, reduce everyone's stress and improve health and work performance- a good investment in the people who work hard for you every day!

This is the most fantastic fitness center. The people are very nice, the facilities are great, the swimming pool is terrific, it's clean. It's a great place. I wished I lived near it. But I'm on the West Coast. Thank you for all your TERRIFIC!! service. Also, the kale salad is great!

Been a member several years. It's a beautiful facility with amazing features and equipment. You can't not like the physical plant. Hours are great. At $180/month for family rates, it's expensive for sure but you get what you pay for. Staff encounters I've had have always been pleasant.

I agree with Victoria (previous reviewer). I too joined before Lifetime Fitness opened. After they first opened, the quality of the training and customer service staff was good. Now, not so much. My biggest problem with Life Time today are Mr. Payne's group fitness classes. He schedules them at the busiest time of day in the functional fitness area of the gym. This prevents anyone who does not pay to join his group fitness class from using the area. Specifically, he uses ALL of the barbells for his class (even though I rarely see anyone in the class using them), and ALL of the dip bars to build a fence to keep the non-groupfitness-paying members out. If you happen to stray into his class, he is extremely aggressive. I have complained about not being able to use the common areas of the gym, and haven't heard a response. This complaint could be resolved if Mr. Payne would move his class to one of the many group fitness rooms, or limit the size of his class so that the functional fitness area can accommodate all of the other paying members. If this doesn't get resolved by the end of March, I will be dropping my membership.
