Love Lifetime! I usually prefer to be a part of smaller more intimate gyms but Lifetime is really something special. The parking lot is always packed, but if you're parking to go to the gym then a brisk walk will only fuel your workout. Love the yoga there too!I will say that I have come across some rude workers and trainers, but I would chalk that up as personality flaws on their part and not the gym itself.

The facility is amazing. The staff is UNMATCHED! I've been a member for a month and continue to be blown away at the genuine care the people at Lifetime continue to show. There's a saying 'the church is the people, not the building', well, at Lifetime, you get both! Very blessed to be a part of such an awesome place!

Victoria and Matchett,I hear your reviews and have to disagree. I have been in the gym many times during the classes you are describing and don't find it difficult to get a in a good workout. Yes, the gym is busy, but we all must respect everyone's time and the functions occurring. The Saturday class you are referring to is for Seniors, people who really need the motivation and help. The rowing machines are used during the class, and yes they are blocked. I have experienced this but had enough respect for other people to just move on and do something different. There is another rowing machine not used near the bikes and elliptical machines, which I myself have used during Saturday morning classes. We will always have to be patient when attending the gym at busy times. If you don't have that type of patience, try different times. We are all there for a common goal, to get fit and healthy. The trainers hired for that facility have only the best in mind for individuals that sign up for their services (including classes) to help them achieve their goals.I love Lifetime Fitness and all their staff for loving us and putting out best interest first.

I joined Lifetime fitness several months ago. I have two young children 7 and 4 year. This has been so great for us. My kids really enjoy the Kids Academy and I really enjoy the classes. The indoor swimming pool can get a bit full at peak times. I look forward to using the outdoor pool this summer.

I don't understand the negative reviews for this place. I love it here.I joined right when they opened, and have been going regularly ever since. The facilities are top-notch, the staff is always friendly, and the instructors for any classes (yoga, spin, etc.) are all really great. I also eat from the LifeCafe a few times a week, and the food is great. Some of the stuff isn't as healthy as they like to claim (a turkey sandwich on white ciabatta bread with mayo and avocado isn't exactly a fat shredder...), but it beats the hell out of most other things you would grab on the go.This place really changed my life - I was a bit sedentary and out of shape when I joined, and now I've never looked/felt better. I keep going back because it really is a great experience every time.Sure it's expensive, but in my opinion you get what you pay for. I've had plenty of opportunities to change to a more inexpensive gym, but I couldn't imagine working out anywhere else.

LOVE Lifetime! We have made some good friend here, staff and members alike. The facilities are spectacular and the hours are unlimited so we always get a work out in- no excuses! They do push a lot of "additional" items to your monthly membership but, you don't have to do them to get 100% out of Lifetime.

I am a salesman, not in a cutthroat gym business, I understand the hard sales pitch to a degree. The staff unlike a review I read has been just great and I have been to out of state clubs as well. The facilities are the nicest in the area, that said as a member, it is expensive ($180 for my wife, me and 8 yr. old) which in a way I don't mind because I have never felt rushed or lacking in an open machine or treadmill, I am also a member of the Hoover Rec and I like it,that said if picking the wrong time can mean waiting for machines. That if I am in workout mode is worth the extra money. When I am doing my workout I do not want to wait and keep moving BUT--I DO HAVE A BEEFSINCE JOINING they have cut programs and hours for the children's section which quite honestly was my reason for joining. It is not much good if they have a program for my son if I can't make it in time since I/wife work.IF you are going to go often, don't join for the minors, the cost may be worth it, if not join Planet Fitness, the Rec or some other cheaper gym. Notice I didn't mention the YMCA, this place vs them is worth the extra as they are not really that cheap or nice, only bonus is there are more outlets to go to.Single, adult couple 4 (5 if money is not a concern) stars one lost for cost---with kids 1 star for changing the rules AFTER the sign up---not appreciated

This is a great gym. I live in Atlanta and have a membership for Lifetime there. The Lifetime in Birmingham is newer, nicer and has more amenities. In addition I have lived in Chicago and have been a member of multiple gyms there (Crunch) as well as New York (Equinox) and this gym has more space, and has better equipment then they ever did. Again, this is a great gym.

The Facility is nice. But the majority (not all) of the staff including managers are rude. They must not pay these people much. That's the only logical reason I can think of. It's just not a good atmosphere. You can almost feel it as soon as you walk through the door. And this is coming from a gym rat.

Terrible customer service. Brand-new, nice facilities, but it's a lot of packaging and no substance. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE. Classes are boring and certainly no better than the YMCA. You might find yourself paying additionally for any service or class actually worth doing. If you have specific sports goal, seek them elsewhere. If you're into the family atmosphere and activities, join the Y. If you want a great pool, join the Y or Jewish Community Center. If you just want to workout on some equipment, save your money and go to snap or planet fitness.Employees at the entrance way seem to be the gatekeeper for any other service or personnel and yet they never seem to know how to help me or process my request. Expect to wait a lot. I was stood up on my first appointment to actually see the gym. I should have run far away after that. It has taken over three weeks to actually schedule swim lessons paid for up front. After realizing I left a garment in the locker room to dry I called the gym but they refused to go pick it up and hold it or put in lost and found or anything. That afternoon is was gone forever - after making a second trip and waiting almost 10 minutes for someone to simply get in touch with lost and found for me. All because they couldn't just hold it for me. A lot of employees I've encountered are rude or impersonal. Those that aren't are also wholly ineffective.
