I have enjoyed attending this gym. The environment has been supportive and friendly for me and my fitness journey. Jessy is also a wonderful personal trainer. She has taught me so much but also has encouraged me to go at my own pace and to appreciate my body and my efforts more fully than have before. Not only that she is a great role model in terms of what is possible when you show up and put in the work. I wish I didn't have to move so I could keep working with her until I hit my life long goals that are inside and outside of the gym.

I’ve been a member of the gym for five months since moving to Jacksonville. The gym is clean, has nice equipment,, and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Shout out to my amazing fitness trainer, Jessy! She’s friendly, understanding, and knowledgeable about my fitness goals and is a great inspiration in helping me attain those goals. Jessy has helped me with my physical fitness, mental fitness, as well as sleep improvement and getting my dietary needs in order. She has been an invaluable asset in helping me through my post surgical recovery for joint replacements and regaining lost muscle strength and atrophy. Jessy is an asset to anyone she helps train as well as the Jacksonville fit for life location.~ Victor Q

The club itself is not where I have the problem, it’s the fact that they make you sign a two-year agreement, then, when you try and cancel after the two years, they tell you, you have to wait three months before the cancellation even goes through. I joined July 23, 2021, I called to cancel on July 23,, 2023. They told me that the cancellation wouldn’t post untill October 24, 2023 per the contract I signed, which was not stated to me when I signed it; which is my fault for not reading further. I should know better than to take someone out their word, so instead, I got charged a yearly maintenance fee For a gym I haven’t used because I’ve been going to Planet Fitness for Years now, because I was highly l Uncomfortable In this environment. When I asked them why I had to pay another 60 For maintenance fee when my contract was actually up in July They said that my contract isn’t up until October even though my two years was up in July. The company that own Highly unprofessional and seems to be a scam. I have never been at a place where your two year contract doesn’t end until three months After your actual two years is up. My suggestion go anywhere else, This place is going to milk you for every bit of money that you have. Once again, not a reflection on the actual gym itself the gym seems OK. It just wasn’t for me and the people who work They are just doing their job. They charge way too much, don’t have enough equipment, and will continue to charge you even after your two years is up.

THE best gym in Jacksonville. I felt right at home after joining the fit4life after moving to Jacksonville from Hawaii. They have plenty of squat racks and other equipment for all my fitness needs and I’m digging the new layout since the renovation. If your looking for a gym with a good culture and great physical trainers this is the one for you. Big shout out to Hope, thank you for the hospitality.

Great gym! The first gym to give me a tour without having to ask. I love that they have an awesome child care area. Justin is a great person to work with and he explains everything so there are minimal questions to anything. He is friendly and very understanding! Overall great time there.

This review is being left after multiple attempts to resolve the problem on the company level and being told to basically “kick rocks” 4 months ago I paid upfront for a year membership at fit 4 life Jacksonville. While talking to one of the trainers I was told about how I could sign up for a month of personal training 1 30 minute session a week and be provided with a workout plan and meal plan to follow, after attending two sessions I was told my workout plan was “lost” and they needed to make another one. I figured it wasn’t that big of a problem as things happen. But I did not plan to renew my personal training the next month. Then the next month came and my account was charged continuously for personal training even tho I was under the impression I only had signed up for a month, after calling the payment company fit 4 life works through I was informed I had been signed up for a year. These documents are “signed” electronically and you are not presented with anything to read. I did read my paper contract and it said nothing about a year personal training membership. I have now paid over 720 dollars for a hour work out and no work out plan or meal plan. Have spoken with two “managers” of the location one (the female) was more then happy to help and tried to assist me the best she could. The other (the male) informed me my only option was to continue and pay off the 1600 for the rest of the sessions or buy out 25% of my contract. Which would be around 500 dollars. This company and its employees know exactly what they are doing the male manager even informed me that they “have a script” do not do business with this company do not sign with this gym. They hide the bad reviews and members to leave 5 stars in exchange for a “free protein smoothie”

This is the first gym I’ve been an actual member at & I can honestly say I have no real complaints! There’s tons of equipment (more coming soon too)! When I first started coming here about a year ago as a new “gym goer”, the atmosphere never made me feel like I wasn’t welcome or I didn’t belong.I also have personal training sessions once a week with Hope. She is AMAZING! I always have a new program ready for me as soon as I finish one. My workouts are great & I have seen so much progress from when I started with her! Not only is she able to help me in my fitness journey, but she’s also given me suggestions to help with sleep & joint pain as well. My overall confidence & health has improved significantly since working with hope. 5 stars isn’t enough!!!

TERRIBLE. I was very optimistic coming to this gym. We really wanted to love it. The equipment is nice and the fact they have childcare sold it for me. However, I very much so regret ever doing business with this establishment.1. Cleanliness is not a priority. Cleaning bottles are constantly empty, the bathrooms are gross, and the kids area is nasty.2. The gym daycare is awful for any child that actually needs care (babies/toddlers). The staff were more interested in scrolling on their phones than watching the kids. Our baby goes to on base daycare and they always say she was great but I couldn’t workout without getting texts that she’s fussy and I need to get her3. I’ve heard and saw the staff literally bash people in the gym and make fun of them in their “clique”4. When attempting to cancel my husbands membership (as I paid for mine for the year in full) we were told he signed a contract. Which he never did. The only contract they provided us with was one without his signature or initials. They then refuse to stop charging our card.5. When attempting to speak to a manager, we were NOT met with ANY sort of professionalism. The “managers” should have better training on true customer service vs taking the rude snappy approach.I really hate bashing businesses, which is why on my account 90% of my reviews are positive but this place is awful. I am sure the response to this will be one to cover tracks vs taking any sort of ownership for the poor way this gym operates and the awful “customer service” we received but I hope I can at least save one person from making the grand mistake I did by joining this gym.UPDATE: After snappy remarks from attempting to reach the owner on the FB page. We were told we would be provided with the contact they stated he signed. We have not been provided anything and now the business will not respond to any professional contact.

Great equipment selection, however the cleanliness is much to be desired, despite leaving feedback in the app, the bathrooms are destroyed! The toilets were a mess and stained with feces, there was underwear in the shower, and some hanging over the wall of the stalls, the toilet paper was missing, and  multiple pieces of old gum was stuffed into one of the sinks, the water filter for the water dispenser seems to be permanently on " replace",  I've seen it replaced one time after months, on a good note, there has been some improvement as there are more available paper towels and non empty spray bottles to wipe down equipment with, the contracts here are not  honored as they should be as my roommates ended in February of this year, but he is still being charged now coming into May, even after addressing this matter with staff, I took a couple months away from here to see if maybe things would change but return to see this place is still as dirty as it was when I stopped coming here.

I’ve traveled quite a bit domestically & abroad and I still haven’t came across a gym that could top Fit4life in Jacksonville, NC. The energy, the staff and the equipment are definitely top tier hands down. On my brief trip back to NC after a year there’s been many upgrades but the energy and are still the same!! See y’all soon!!
