Genesis Health Clubs – North Overland Park

This facility is both expansive and complete with no shortage of equipment whether it's cardiovascular or free weights and resistance training. In particular Ryan has been incredibly helpful in setting up my membership and accommodating in orienting me to the club, Great job!!!

Very good gym! Front desk, trainers, and all staff are always friendly and welcoming. Great variety of cardio and weight equipment. Facilities are clean and well maintained. No complaints here!

Staff is amazing and so nice. I avoided gyms for years because of feeling judged being overweight, but I have never felt that here love coming here! I have lost 40 lbs since joining this gym and can't wait to continue this journey.

I swam here for years and it was great until Genesis bought it. They charge twice as much, but it’s always crowded now and space is frequently taken up by classes that aren’t posted. Pool maintenance went way downhill- little bits of debris and hair clumps everywhere. Last spring I witnessed a “bodily fluids” spill and alerted the front desk, nothing was done to clean or change the water. Gross. If you’re in it to swim laps, there are many better places to do that.Reply to response: That’s because you never changed my name in your system after I got married, even though I requested it several times. It was Baxley, and I was a member for years. I also didn’t complain about MY rate. I said you charge twice as much in general, which is true. I stand by everything I said.

Had the worst experience today 12-19. Would give 0 stars but have to give at least 1 star for the review. Worst gym daycare! Gym daycare employees spend their time on their phones instead of engaging with the children. Unprofessional employees who do not respect the customers nor do they know how to address issue’s privately with the parent of the child. Management does nothing to correct the issue. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS GYM!

This genesis is the best one I have been to in the KC area by far. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, they guide you every step of the way and don’t try to hit you with any hidden fees or anything. Ryan Thompson was fantastic and did a great job getting me both a personalized plan and great prize. Nothing but praise to Ryan and his team and this Genesis. 10/10 would recommend.

Staff are always super friendly and the childcare/play area is brilliant for my two young daughters. The gym has everything you need and it’s never too crowded so you can get your workout done. Great pool and hot tub too.

Update from my first review of 5 starts. Revolving employees, untrained, unprofessional as if its a hang out spot. There is an employee who has been a professional I wish I remembered his name. He helped when the new employees were not training yet. Mostly the issue is at this location. The gym facility amenities are good. Dear fitness center, you say you have towels but you do not! You need more! There are none at 10 or 2 pm. If I knew I could have brought one. Please be responsible as advertised!! I may cancel my membership because of this!

This is a great facility with a very professional staff, and we have met a lot of nice people. Leslie Oursler and I started coming to enjoy the outdoor pool last year and are thankful that they keep it open as long as the weather is nice. I love the water aerobics class and we both take advantage of the indoor track and other workout areas. We would recommended it to anyone looking for a good workout facility.
