Our instructor was very knowledgeable and patient. I have told many friends and would like to come back.

Suspend is more than a studio. It is a safe space, a community, a place to recover and rediscover yourself. When you walk through the door you are more than just a guest, you are a part of something rare and almost magical. Suspend is about all the things we tend to lose in the toil of day-to-day living. It is play, creativity, expression, and raw childlike joy.You don't have to have any prior experience or skill. All ages are welcome. All body types. All strengths. All people.Learn to love yourself again, to be kind to yourself, and appreciate your mind and your body for what it is and what it can be.

They say they have Suspend a friend classes where a friend can tag along for free but they're not real aerial yoga classes,. The lady didn't tell me when I could bring a friend for free, just said a few times a month and that they fill up fast... I'll have to come in and pay for us both I suppose..

Incredibly welcoming environment with fantastic instructors. I came in with no experience and next to no upper body strength. I was amazed how quickly they got us in the air and doing tricks in the intro series. I was expecting to take one class for fun and realize it wasn't for me. I've been at Suspend for almost a year and classes are one of my favorite parts of the week. It's a positive atmosphere that celebrates all levels of accomplishments. I've been enjoying seeing my gradual improvement over time.Safety is a huge focus and the instructors often talk about anatomy and how different bodies function differently. I feel safer and more in tune with my body here than I have at any other gym I've been to.

I've taken 3 classes now and they have all been so much fun! I have very little experience but each class has been do able for me; the atmosphere here is very fun and welcoming. If its a brand new experience for you dont feel anxious or intimidated. Everyone Ive encountered are friendly and easy going. I would highly recommend to anyone. My favorite so far has been acro balance! But ALL classes have been great!

I attended the aerial yoga class as a drop in. It was welcoming and not intimidating at all, as long as you have some idea of what to expect with aerial yoga using a sling/swing. The sling was mostly a prop to aid in yoga postures done from the floor. We had one pose fully suspended, and I felt safe and fully in control the whole time. I'm glad I went for it!

I joined Suspend in August 2018, so I have been attending classes regularly for a little less then a year at this point. There are many reasons I love coming to Suspend, but for my review I will focus on the top 3 reasons you should check it out.THE FACILITYThe location in NULU is super convenient if you work downtown like I do. I love to drop in after work for a class or two before I head home. Suspend has several rigging points that are checked regularly for safety. They offer lyra, trapeze, silks, rope, pole, acro, juggling, hula hoop and a variety of other classes. There are occasionally even workshops to learn unique skills such as unicycling. The facility is clean and inviting. I especially love all the beautiful artwork featuring aerialists decorating the gym.KNOWLEDGABLE STAFFThe instructors never seize to impress me with not only their knowledge of the aerial arts but with their ability to explain things in an easily digestible way. No matter your level (I am a beginner) they can get you on the apparatus safely challenging yourself to do new things. Every instructor is focused on proper form and doing things correctly to avoid injury. There are even classes like Flexibility & Mobility and Aerial Conditioning that I find quite helpful.COMMUNITYThis is one of the most welcoming places I have ever been. They say that aerials are for anyone. Everyone is welcome no matter your shape, size you will be met where you are and challenged to push yourself. Everyone (students & instructors) cheer each other on. This gym is definitely a body positive space for anyone to work on their art.If you are curious about circus and aerials, I encourage you to check out Suspend. It is not easy, but the sense of accomplishment is incomparable.

This studio is the most positive environment around. Using aerials as a from of fitness exercise is a wonderful concept and the instructors at Suspend have it down to a science. They have created an atmosphere that is truly absent any criticism that is not constructive. Classes gel into cohesive groups easily, yet they thrive on having fresh faces join. If you are unsure try their 4 class Intro to Aerials series. You will impress yourself.

Great new way to exercise. The instructors, and people in general, are really supportive. I wasn't too nervous trying things I had never done before. The clearly guided instructions make everything really simple. It was so much fun, it didn't feel like exercise! Highly recommend.

From the first day I set foot in Suspend's beautiful training facility, I've felt welcome.Or -- not just welcome, actually. Embraced. Adopted. Valued in spite of and even *because of* all my intrinsic weirdness.I've also felt challenged -- challenged to overcome my own longstanding sense of myself as "a dancer without much upper-body strength," to adapt to new physical experiences, to learn new skills, and to trust a bunch of people who were, in the beginning, complete strangers. That's great, of course, -- I'm the kind of person who thrives on challenge. But for a lot of us, that's not enough, and that's where many gyms and studios fall down. People find themselves feeling alienated or bored, or as if they're struggling alone, and they quit. That's where Suspend really, truly excels.Doing new things is hard, and when people try new things, they don't always "get" them right away. Anne, Meg, Mia, the Courtneys, Kara, Amberly, and the rest of the teaching staff have somehow created a place where that's okay -- and where every incremental step along the way is recognized and applauded (often literally) by everyone in a three-meter radius. The technical instruction, of course, is fantastic -- students learn to do amazing things with their bodies, and learn to do them beautifully. Instructors impart not just the what and the how, but the why -- artistic interpretation is highly valued around here, as is mastery of transitional movements and performance elements. As a dancer, I value that focus immensely. At the end of the day, though, if I had to choose just one reason to explain to people why they should come to Suspend, I'd say this:Come to Suspend because after one class you'll start to feel at home, and after a week you'll start to feel more at home at Suspend than at your actual home. After a month, you'll probably want to move in, but so far it's not possible to just live in the aerial hammocks between classes. I'll keep checking on that, though.(Also come because after a month of literally hanging around with your friends at Suspend, you'll be stronger than you ever thought you could be. You just won't necessarily notice, because you've been too busy having an awesome time. Then one day you'll be like, "Oh, I totally can't do a pull-up, watch." And then you'll totally do a freaking pull-up, and you'll be like THAT JUST HAPPENED ^____^)Every once in a while, someone manages to strike the right balance between challenge and camaraderie, and something beautiful is born. Suspend is one of those beautiful somethings. No wonder the mascot is a unicorn, eh?
