Crunch Fitness - Outer Loop, located in the Tymberwood Shopping Center, Louisville, KY, is a 24/7 gym offering a wide range of equipment and fitness classes. This gym has a large space with separate areas for cardio and weight training, with an assortment of dumbbells, barbells, and machines. 24/7 gym. With top tier membership it does not allow using the amenities that I pay for. Have not been able to use the body scan last several times I tried at 2 locations this and Middletown. It used to be available anytime which is the definition of 24/7… not you have to schedule it even when no one is using it…. Furthermore you have to “book” something you are ALREADY paying for with your membership at least 24 hours in advance which is not feasible for people with chaotic demanding jobs like mine. Would not let me schedule for the same day and Only available during certain hours. Absolutely absurd. 24/7 gym memberships whole idea is to be able to use it at flexible hours. This is not right and poor execution of policy and customer service . Nothing against the guy working the desk. He was polite and professional

The workers are rude. They don’t greet you when you walk in. One worker wouldn’t allow my friend to use the bathroom to pee because she wasn’t a member. Also a bunch of people do not wipe their machines off after use which is disgusting.

I never know when group classes are so I'm always coming in and getting kicked off the punching bags like 5 minutes into starting on them. I come in early & there's a class, come in later on in the day & there's a class. Why aren't times ever posted?! I want to avoid them, but I never know when they are.

Nice facility that’s pretty clean. I wish the restroom had paper towels and that they had toilet seat covers. The gym is never over crowded. Wish hydro massages were included with the base membership but it’s not. Overall I hope to continue coming here for years to come. Friendly staff.

Final update: this is the dirtiest and messiest gym I’ve been to in 10 years. The bathrooms are disgusting every day. The toilets are NEVER properly cleaned. They’re caked in pee, grime, and hairs. You can see how filthy they are at first glance, so how is staff missing this? The machines have an inch of dust around/under them because no one cleans the floor unless it can be reached by a giant steam machine. Meaning every corner and small space is neglected. (Laziness)These are problems isolated only to this location. I’ve never seen a single dumbbell out of place at any other Crunch. Every surrounding location has sparkling clean bathrooms, floors, and weight machines- I checked to make sure I wasn’t expecting too much. Every point I’ve made is ONLY a problem at this location. The manager and staff need to learn other location’s protocols or corporate needs to come fix these issues. The sanitation isn’t excusable.I avoid this location as much as possible and go only when I’m low on time.Update:Today the women’s bathrooms were REALLY gross. I know they’re not cleaning or sanitizing them because the same dead bug has been in a stall for a week. I let the front desk know it needed to be cleaned and a man said he’d get someone on it.An hour later I go in the bathroom and the only thing they did was pick up the toilet paper on the ground… they did not clean. They didn’t even sweep. They left the dead bug laying in the stall. You guys… The toilets are caked in grime. No one re-racks the weights. The dumbbells are all over the gym, including upstairs in the cardio section. I had to do a lap around the entire gym to find the weight I needed. This is a member problem, however the staff aren’t maintaining either.

I just wish people would learn to put the weights back. This place looks like an absolute mess. I love the equipment and the amount of free weights they have, but they don't enforce putting weights back. Only complaint.

The gym itself is nice. However, I've had multiple ongoing issues with my membership. I canceled my membership at the end of February and have been charged every month since. I've called the gym several times to dispute this. They apologize, cancel my membership, and then I'm charged again. I finally asked to have it escalated because I want a refund. They told me there was no management on shift, but they'd have someone reach out. Its been three weeks of "I'll have someone call you back." I'm starting to believe no one is going to.

Pros:Gym is bright and new.Cons:The biggest downfall is it's SO CROWDED after work. People stand behind the strength machines to wait in a line to use them. I've never seen a gym have waiting lines for equipment. Moreover, the gym is very bro-ey, extremely male-dominated, and as a female, I don't feel comfortable working out there sometimes. L.A. Fitness had a women-only strength training area and I really wish more gyms would adopt that concept. The bathrooms smell bad and doesn't seem like anyone is cleaning them. I want to cancel my Crunch membership at this point but unfortunately I signed a 12-month contract so I have to ride it out
