Looking at this from 2 different views1) An adult whose been in and out of martial arts gyms - I’ve seen the good and the bad ones —- this place is pretty close to FANTASTIC2) As a father who wants his kids to learn to defend themselves and to be good people - it’s AMAZINGIt’s not often that I’m impressed with something to the point that I give an EXCELLENT review - but this gym and the staff there have earned it.

We been through a number of schools, but this one is a gem. Awesome coach (Joe) and an owner (Tim) who also enjoy the business and the sport. I can sleep at night knowing my kids will be able to defend themselves if they ever get into a fight. Good stuff!!

If you are considering Muay Thai or jiu-jitsu give this gym a try. Can’t speak highly enough about the way Coach Joe approaches mixed martial arts. He LOVES every aspect of fighting and it shows in his teaching style. He doesn’t teach “his way or the highway” but invites questions and helps you understand techniques that suit you. Clean, safe, and very fun atmosphere. Whether you want a gym for practical self defense, staying in shape, or begin/continue your fighting career this is the place!

Absolutely wonderful studio! From the moment you walk in they make you feel like family. Coach Joe has such patience with the kids! He makes jiu jitsu fun for all ages! My oldest has only been doing jiu jitsu for 6 months and has come so far! Highly recommend trying out jiu jitsu here to anyone!

Whether it's your first day, or you've been there from the start, everyone involved with this gym will make you feel part of the family. Coach Joe is exceptional with his instruction and the kids adore him.

I am 50 and have wanted to try martial arts since I was a kid and life got in the way and I have self-esteem issues then had a motorcycle wreck and had knee surgery in that time so I never did. After I turned 50 I thought why not? Nothing to lose, right? I went by and spoke with the staff at Rockstar and they were patient enough to talk to me for 45 minutes with my questions and hesitations and that just made me feel welcome so I signed up. That was a great decision and I have been going for 5 weeks and want to keep getting better. Coach Joe is great; he's an excellent teacher that recognizes your level and works with that and the other students are varied levels but everyone's there to learn and get better whether that's fitness or technique. Absolutely great place!

Awesome place! My grandson loves rockstar South Mckinney. He's convinced "Coach Joe" literally hung the moon. We really enjoy watching him train there! The facility is always clean and in great shape. Coach Joe is an excellent coach! His students absoutely learn JiuJitsu and get good at it! Joe teaches, friendship, loyalty, wisdom and many other life skills that serve his students well outside the gym! Highly recommended!
