Roufusport MMA

I have been part of the Roufusport family for 2 years now and I must say "family" is exactly what it it. Duke Roufus, Scott Cushman, & Joe Nichols are the primary striking coaches that lend their vast knowledge and experience to the students. Whether you are interested in merely getting in great shape, having a new type of workout, preparing to compete at an amature level, or perusing your dream to make a life as a fighter there is definitely a place for you at Roufusport. The Kickboxing and Boxing classes are great workouts and attaining such knowledge and technique from these masters makes it that much more fun! I am not a participant in the BJJ or wrestling that is available for students to take, but do feel the positive coaching and energy from lead BJJ blackbelt coaches Omar Choudhury and Daniel Wanderley! The cherry on top is being part of a gym that has the UFC lightweight champ Anthony "Showtime" Pettis, as well as UFC fighters Erik Koch, Chico Camus, Dustin Ortiz, Sergio Pettis, Pascal & Krauss. Also having former Bellator champion Ben Askren and rising stars Rick Glenn, and Mike "Biggie" Rhodes are just great to be around and cheer on. This is a great atmosphere filled with positive energy where, whatever your goal is, you can shine. It is a non-ego place where the emphasis is TEAM, Together Everyone Achieves More!!!! I appreciate being able to receive world wide top notch professional coaching in my backyard of Milwaukee, WI. The staff is always pleasant and willing to help in anyway they can. I am in a different place mentally, physically, and spiritually due to the best MMA academy around. I can't be wait to be back to training as usual.

I started going to Roufusport about two years ago to break up my fitness routine and to try out kickboxing. I had no clue the caliber of instruction I would be receiving as a student. Little do most Milwaukee residents know- Roufusport has some of the best facilities and instruction in the world. Needless to say, once I started kickboxing, I didn't stop. I am amazed by the transformation of my body, and I am now in the best shape of my life. Not only is the workout and instruction the best around, but so is the Roufusport family/community.The coaches and staff are extremely friendly, and knowledgeable of their craft. I am proud to be a part of this gym and it has enabled me to achieve goals physically and mentally, that I never thought I could achieve. When I knew I would be relocating to Milwaukee, WI for my job I started to research local Mixed Martial Arts Academies so I could continue Kickboxing. I stumbled upon Roufusport and after doing some research I knew this would be the place I would train. It's been by far the best Mixed Martial Arts Academy that I have attended. Since day one, I was welcomed with open arms. I immediately felt the unity of the entire Academy, even from the professional athletes there. The vibes I get from this gym, I haven't received from any other gym that I've been to and I've been to many gyms across the US. Whether you plan to pursue a career in Mixed Martial Arts or are just looking for a fun way to stay healthy, Roufusport offers the full gambit of opportunities.

I joined Roufusport about a little over 2 years and fell in love immediately. From the world class instructors, Training partners, and friendships made. I feel part of the family. Roufusport makes it available for all types of people can come in and train. We have Champions in Mixed Martial Arts to people looking just to lose some weight. All ages and sizes. When i started training there i weighed in around 230 lbs now i walk around 180 lbs. I am so happy i made the decision to join this gym.

If you are going to learn Mixed Martial Arts, BJJ, Kickboxing or take Fitness Kickboxing - there is no better place than Roufusports! All of the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and caring. I am 42 years old and in the best shape of my life. I have lost 20 pounds since I joined Roufusports in 2010. The instructors never push you past your limits and never make you do anything that you don't want to do. The entire staff and the atmosphere at the gym is very welcoming. With so many different classes and class availability there is something for everyone at Roufusports.

I started training at Roufusport MMA Academy in 2006. At the time I was a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and had 11 MMA fights. I needed to improve my striking as well as many aspects of MMA and Roufusport was the place to go. Coaches Duke Roufus and Scott Cushman definitely helped me make a big change in my game as well as all of my training partners through the years. Roufusport soon became much more than a place for me to train.Shortly after joining the team, I began teaching some classes. I had some experience doing that already and was happy to become part of the staff. At first, I was mainly the kid’s instructor and filled in for other BJJ classes when needed. As time passed on I was able to increase my role as a coach at one of the top gyms for MMA.In 2012, I was given a great opportunity to work at Roufusport full time. I had been working at a school during the day and at the academy at night. The one thing that was always on my mind and looked forward to everyday was being able to do BJJ. This gave me the chance to do what I love as a full time job. My students are some of the greatest people I have ever met and the feeling I get when I see them succeed is indescribable.Today, I hold a black belt in BJJ and have the luxury of training and coaching alongside some amazing coaches and champions. One great thing about Coach Duke Roufus is that he is always looking to bring in the best to Roufusport. He always says “To be the best, you need to train with the best.” Professor Daniel Wanderley joined our staff this past summer and has brought so much knowledge to our team. I have learned a great deal from him since he has been here and have now have another coach to take me to the next level.Although it’s my job, I honestly have a lot of fun. I am able to teach and learn at the same time, which helps me become a better coach, student, and competitor. When people step into Roufusport and experience any class offered, they know we are the real deal.

If you want to join a family that will help you reach your goals, this is the place for you! A few years ago, I joined Roufusport to help me get back in shape and learn some new skills. Almost instantly, all the instructors knew who I was and they took a real interest in my training. The rest of the team is just as welcoming and I'm constantly impressed with the skills and athletes on the mat. No where else in the world can you train with such high level athletes & coaches, in an environment that motivates you to achieve more than you could imagine!

I recently joined Roufusport and I have never been more excited to go get a workout in! The fitness kickboxing class that they offer is perfect for those who are looking for a good mix of kickboxing technique and cardio/strength training. This class is an intense hour where you focus on all areas for a great, full-body workout. All of the trainers are very skilled and knowledgeable and make sure people of all skill levels are included. This academy is like a huge family and you quickly meet so many friendly people. I am happy I decided to join because trying to achieve fitness goals is so much easier when you are enjoying yourself and getting support from your instructors and classmates.

Coaches are extremely nice and willing to work with you. Very knowledgeable (helps that all of them are or have been professional fighters). Gym is kept clean. Only complaint is they could use a couple more fans, it gets pretty hot and humid.
