This is by far the best location!! I have never been to a more cleaner planet!!!! Staff is constantly cleaning and front desk staff Cj is very nice and helpful!

Workers keep the facility clean. Facility has most equipment needed although some rowers would be a great addition. Also, there’s not many upright bikes so these frequently are full. Would have given 4+ stars if it wasn’t during COVID times but hardly anyone is masked and no one approaches anyone about this (I get that people don’t want to cause a scene and some people act almost violently for such a simple request) but rules are rules and I think that a health facility should comply with health policies. Despite other reviews mentioning this, no change has been implemented. I know these are hard times but I have to enforce the mandate at my work so it’s clearly possible. Furthermore, people don’t care about social distancing-they’ll grab a bike right next to you and start coughing all over the place. Bottom line-if you are at risk of being seriously I’ll from COVID this is not the gym for you but all germs aside, it gets the job done.

I have always liked Planet Fitness and have been a member on and off for years. This previous time signing up I was looking for a low cost gym which I thought Planet Fitness was. In the span of 2.5 months I was charged over $100 because of multiple "fees." Just FYI, you will get charged an annual fee 2 months after signing up on the first of that month! So if you sign up June 30, you'll be charged an annual fee on August 1st :) Planet Fitness is no longer about being a low cost gym, they are about getting money just like everyone else. The only reason the annual fee is charged 2 months (or less) after signing up is so that if you cancel after a few months, don't worry, they've already charged you for your annual fee.Edit:I had already spoken to 2 managers before I canceled my membership. One was very rude, and the other agreed that the fee was ridiculous.

Everything is wonderful about this place except one thing: almost no one is wearing mask. I know it's hard to control; but it's a state mandate in Illinois. I myself hate to wear a mask when working out. But, I want to protect myself and my family wearing that. Given that another variant of covid19 is coming up (Omicron), I hope that Planet Fitness reminds or asks people to wear the mast for their own safety.

The club is always clean and there are enough machines that you don't have to wait.However, I was a black card member until recently when without warning the one on one training program was eliminated and my trainer was let go. I was extremely shocked, infuriated and at a loss as to why Planet Fitness corporate management would make this decision. The one on one trainer was the entire reason I took out my black card membership and the trainer I was working with...HE was the reason I was using my membership. I needed a trainer to build a training program specific to my needs as I have many physical problems and I was afraid that I was going to hurt myself if I wasn't given correct instruction. HE was phenomenal! I originally started training in Elgin then followed him when he transferred to Naperville and again when he transferred to St. Charles locations. Planet Fitness has stripped the trainers of their livelihoods and the members of what the came to love and depend on.Eliminating the human trainers is a huge mistake. Virtual trainers on an app can't tell me if I am doing something incorrectly (only my body will when I hurt myself!!). They will not show me an alternative way to do an exercise to suit my fitness level. Will they measure my progress and know when I need to change exercises to work alternate muscle groups or increase my weight limit to challenge my muscles more deeply? Will they check in with me during an exercise to make sure I am doing ok and encourage me to keep going even though I am not sure I can? The answer is NO NO and so many NO's. My trainer not only helped me physically but emotionally and built a community of us who then supported each other when we were at the gym giving us more motivation to continue to challenge ourselves and move along our fitness journey.Planet Fitness corporate didn't take into account that the human factor in this decision at all. If I wanted a virtual experience I would stay home and watch what I needed on the internet, buy equipment from that very expensive other company that starts with a P. That, however, wasn't what I signed my name to when I contracted with the Planet Fitness experience, the no judgement zone, the personal touch. I didn't become Black Card to use the "Beauty Bar". I did it to use the trainer to help me, guide me, encourage me, TEACH me. That was the experience I was getting before this sudden change occurred with absolutely no communication to me as a Black Card member. Planet Fitness took away the ONE benefit in my fitness contract that I joined the club for without even an email or a sign at the club explaining the change and/or what was going to be the replacement of the lost benefit. Yes, I know Planet Fitness can change the terms of our contract at any time. Luckily, so can I.Bottom line take away, Planet Fitness corporate management showed no value for the human factor in their employees or their members. I STUCK IT OUT WITH YOU THROUGH OUT THE TOUGH TIMES OF THE PANDEMIC--THIS IS HOW YOU VALUE ME AS A MEMBER???

Way better than I expected!Clean locker rooms and nice showers (though I haven't used them yet).Bathrooms are clean as well.Please consider adding punching bags! Not the hanging kinds.

I love planet fitness. I've actually tried out other gyms and came back to PF because nothing really compares.The only complaint I have is the reduced hours. I get that Covid impacted everything and maybe 24/7 isn't sustainable. However, most locations don't open until 6:00 am. For many trying to get in a workout before work, this isn't sufficient. Many people like to work out early in the morning to avoid the crowds as well.

I transferred my membership from the Aurora location about two months ago. I've been happy with the consistency of employees opening on time, this facility is clean, the employees wear masks appropriately. Unfortunately, the mask mandate is not followed by most of the members working out at the gym. I'm not sure if the employees are not empowered to notify the members that they need to wear the mask at all times, or if the employees are intimidated to notify the members that they are to be wearing a mask inside. Some members enter the gym wearing a mask however promptly remove it during exercise. Perhaps it should be explained that during exercise respiration rate and force increases thusly, the droplets during exhalation will travel farther.

One thing I love about this location is that the building is maintained and the staff are always productive. I do wish the music selection and hours were more flexible but I'm loving this location! Staff is always positive and outgoing, and machines are well kept.
