I use toLove this gym but as soon as you cancel your membership they hit you with all these fees. And everytime I asked someone about contracts or different memberships none of them seemed to know anything. I had to call other edges or edge members to find out information. They charge you 50 bucks yearly fees even if you cancelling this place is a rip off

Came with another member but was unaware that his membership only allowed him to workout in one location , guy at the front had an attitude and we’re basically asked to either upgrade (even though he lives on the other side of town) or pay 15$ for the day - the monthly membership is 10$ . If he wanted to let us in he would’ve , but since he wanted to a jerk he made my friend pay . As we were walking we both said “ New gym it is!” If he had better manners and had a nicer attitude the 15$ would’ve been paid either way and we would’ve left with a good experience . If your expecting an inclusive friendly gym don’t join - not it

Overall large gym with a lot of natural light and amenities the only thing that sucks is both there massage chairs are broken then the water bed massagers are weak it feels like just having a warm rag against your back which is sorta important for me as blue collar worker to warm up with light cardio hit the massager do heavy weight lifting then go in the sauna it sucks because those massage chairs helped pull me out of physical therapy

I joined back in the summer of 2020 when they reopened gym after covid first hit. It was great but too far away from where I live (in NY) so I cancelled after a year. A year later after moving a little closer (but still in NY) I decided to rejoin since I loved the equipment at the Greenwich location. I wish I would of checked the gym out first before rejoining. It is over crowded with teenagers who work out in groups of 5 in this already small location- and canceling the membership has been a complete nightmare. They refuse to cancel my membership and claim according to my contract they cannot cancel. Even though there are no guidelines in my contract that say I cannot cancel. They won't even freeze the membership unless you have a medical notice or are in the military. My advice is do not join this place, save your money and go else where.

The manager and sales staff straight up lie to get you to sign up for the membership. They don’t show you any paperwork or agreement, and force you into higher plans that you wouldn’t need.If you ever have to cancel they make you go through many hoops just so they can continue taking your money, and they lack any communication/purposely stall in order to continue charging you. I was moving, and sent them bank statements as proof for cancellation. They purposely stalled in responding to my email to be able to charge me for another month and some random extra annual charge, and requested additional proof. I sent them another bank statement that said the exact same thing, and they only accepted it after a certain time period so that they could scam me into paying more. Especially if you’re a student, they’ll straight up lie to make you sign, and once they have your information they’ll continue to charge regardless of what they say. This entire operation is a massive scam. Highly don’t recommend, it’s not worth going here. It’s much better to go to planet fitness or any other more reliable gym. Trust me, Don’t be fooled by the low prices they advertise, they’re going to take your money.

I’m going to miss this gym so much! 😢 I am moving away to Massachusetts and cannot find a gym as good as this one. I have the membership where I could go to all locations which was very convenient and worth it for me. Staff in all the locations I have found to be very nice. I even developed friendships with some. I highly highly recommend this gym! As each gym is managed by someone different I think experience for members will different gym to gym, my overall experience with the Edge Fitness Clubs as a whole and it’s perks has been very good. It will be missed!

For those talking about difficulties when trying to cancel their membership and being charged extra, you are right. The exact same thing happened to me at edge in Hamden Connecticut . This company overall is a scam when it comes to you wanting to leave them. I was advised to go to planet fitness.initially, I thought it was something about the location but reading your experience ( am turning around). I was ask to send proof of traveling and at the same time they were not responding to my request. A total disaster.

Dirty gym. Scam artists. Try to cancel and they start hitting you with annual fees. They purposely delay communication to get you past arbitrary 30 day periods to charge you even more money. I tried to cancel April 30th and they charged me a yearly fee on may 2, clearly outside the 30 day mark. Makes no sense. Plenty of better options in the area anyway. Avoid at all costs.

The manager and sales staff tell lies to get you to sign up for the membership. Force you into higher plans that you wouldn’t need. If you ever have to cancel they make you go through 75 hoops just so they can continue taking your money. Edge fitness and this orange location is a scam. Highly don’t recommend. Don’t be fooled by the low prices they advertise. They just gonna scam it all away.

Front desk staff are awesome thou. Management really needs to be retrained. It's like you go in for help with one thing and no one is able to help. They'll say, "wait for the GM," and when you go to her it's useless. I've been with the edge since 2012 and the last few months have been the worst thus far. Please ensure they give you a hard copy of the contract which is 2pages, don't let them tell you it's one page, because it took 3 days for me to get the email and by that time it's considered late. I spend more time going to the gym to fix stuff than to actually workout these last 2 weeks.
