Do not park in front of the gym, that space is reserved for the gym…despite being a public street where any vehicle has the right to park.

Nothing but good things about this place, I only left because I moved out of state. Whether you're a novice or experienced, it's definitely a welcoming and engaging environment with well thought out WODs and focused coaching. I was really impressed with the place during my time there; they definitely set the standard. Thanks Mike and staff.

Best gym ever! I saw so much change in me. Coach Mike is amazing too. Pushes you hard which I like. If your a wimp don’t come. Great atmosphere here and the people are very friendly. Facility is clean and well equipped. I highly recommend everyone to join here.

If you have never practiced this sport before, do not try it there. My husband and I were embarrassed by Coach Mike in front of everyone, screaming. He doesn't have patience to teach new people, he was super aggressive with us because we weren't able to do the exercise correctly the first times. Unpleasant and humiliating situation. There is a place for those who have been practicing for many years and do not need to learn, coach Mike does not like to teach and is prejudiced against immigrants. Always sarcastic and embarrassing us during classes saying that we did not understand English and we needed to learn it faster, but that was not the case. We were in a process to learn coordination, which he doesn’t show patience, compassion and humility to others. I don’t recommend this place.

So go back to 2013. I just moved to Mount Vernon. Just down the block was CrossFit Gotham. It was my first time at anything like a CrossFit box. Mike and his trainers were nothing but professional and informative. I felt comfortable enough to give it a shot. Now I want to explain who I am a little bit. I’m short, overweight and my athletic days are long past. But I will say that CrossFit Gotham was a really welcoming place and I never felt like I was patronized or treated badly. In fact they were great and went out of their way to make me feel like I belonged. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Sadly, I injured myself and only lasted a short while before I had to step aside. I’ll be honest I still miss it.I have to give them massive props. They are professional, knowledgeable and they work hard to make sure you get good value for your money. It’s taking me many many years to write this review, but I want to make sure that I go on record as saying that this was a really good experience.

It's a great place to workout. People are friendly, helpful and at the end of the WOD; you know everyone is hurting. Mike and the staff truly work hard in making sure everyone feels welcome.

Love my box! CrossFit is mostly a no frills kind of sport. So, Gotham is a no frills kind of place. Nothing luxurious about it, but the people are great, the workouts are delightfully torturous and the coaches know what they're doing. Take that back on the frills. We love our Concept 2 row, ski, AND bike ergs (boom!). I've been to a number of places and only a couple have more than rowers. Most people accept a tough commute for work. Since I don't have that, I am happy for my tough commute to be back and forth to the gym. Totally worth it!

First week at CrossFit Gotham - staff is friendly and knowledgable. Worked with Moe who is super motivating and Mike who knowledgable and encouraging.Trainers have complete control over the class, emphasis is on safety.Facility is large, well organized, and clean.Very important - the community is OUTSTANDING!! Fellow CrossFitters cheer each other on, teach one another, don't leave until everyone finishes the WOD.So glad to have found such a safe and positive workout environment (that of course pushes you to your limits and leaves you feeling sore days after your workout)!
