I have always struggled with feeling intimidated at big gyms and brand name workout classes but need the accountability and motivation of working out with other people. From the moment I walked through the door at Lionheart, I knew I had found my gym. Owners Ashley and Jose (and their pup Macie) are approachable and welcoming, and their small group classes are so accepting and have a strong sense of community. I have been doing personal training sessions with Ashley for 2 months now, and it’s been the best investment in my physical and mental health - not to mention the most consistent I have ever been with a fitness routine. I can’t say enough about what a special place Lionheart is and I highly recommend for both classes and personal training.

This is absolutely a gym for everyone and anyone. As someone who suffers from severe anxiety and panic disorder(and is also plus-size), finding a gym that makes me feel comfortable is impossible.I signed up for a shadow kickboxing class to see if this was the gym I would be interested in forever. And it absolutely is. The group was small with about 7 people in total, including my partner and I. Shawn, our trainer, was welcoming and made me feel at ease right away. The rest of the group was also very friendly and excited to see us newcomers. The workout I got was intense, but fun. Classes are 30 minutes each, and you will absolutely feel the burn at the end of it. It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or advanced, they will teach you everything at the pace you need.Thanks for helping me start my fitness journey, Lionheart!

I have been going to this gym for almost a year! The team is very friendly and welcoming. Ashley one of the co-owners is the most amazing trainer! She is very motivating and really cares for her clients. I have always struggled to stay consistent at the gym and she really has kept me motivated to keep coming back! She also has a very flexible schedule which works so well with my crazy work hours! Honestly, hands down the best experience I have had at a gym in a long time.

My husband and I love working out here! From the classes to the personal training, Ashley and Jose as well as the entire fitness staff have been wonderful. We always have a great workout and we’ve learned a lot about how to continue or improve our health journey. Every-time we go we gain so much. We are super excited to start boxing classes soon

Lionheart is a great gym on the UWS. The small classes run by Ashley and Jose are fun and challenging. Relaxed, focused vibe, friendly people. I have also had a great experience with personal training with Jose.They have helped me make more progress towards fitness goals than I have in many years!

I rarely write reviews but I had to make this exception to rave about Ashley at Lionheart. Training with her one-on-one has become the highlight of my week. She has been extremely skillful at finding that sweet spot of helping me quickly build strength and agility without risking injury. In addition to her extraordinary knowledge of bodies, Ashley offers a warm, playful, compassionate style that makes our workouts so much fun. The low-key, intimate setting at Lionheart only enhances the whole experience.

Let me start by saying that I never thought fitness studio or group classes were my thing. I’ve always wrote them off mostly because many of them in the city can be intimidating, overwhelming, and feel exclusive or pretentious, so I stuck to running or solo workouts at home. However, I knew I wanted to change up the way I was doing things in order to gain real results and had to get out of my comfort zone and try something. And I’m so glad I found Lionheart - not only have they changed my outlook on fitness, but I feel challenged every session while having fun. The trainers and the great community they built really makes this place stand out from the others. I’ve now been a member for almost a year, and I still leave every session feeling good! Not only have I seen physical progress, but I've surprised myself by picking up moves and workouts I didn’t think I’d be able to do and developed a brand new outlook on health. Jose and Ashley are an amazing duo - both motivational, positive, fun, non-judgmental, and really care about each client’s progress. I’ve spent a lot of time searching for a gym before joining Lionheart Health and there isn’t anything quite like this around the area. There is something for everyone here, no matter if you’re a beginner or advanced – this place is great for every fitness journey. They’ve got a variety of classes that you can choose from throughout the week (i.e. boxing, HIIT, strength training, lifting, etc.) so it’s definitely easy to find something that works with your schedule and your goals!

Lionheart provides excellent instruction from great trainers. Each class is fun yet very challenging. The gym has plenty equipment for your ideal strength training routine.

Lion heart is the best thing that happened to me. I’m a therapist and a doctoral student at Columbia University—in short my life is stressed af! I needed not only some way to beat my stress but to expand my horizons, to be able to create a dialogue between mind and body and lionheart offered me that language. Don’t think it’s just working out, it’s actually working through—-stress, despair, pain by challenging limits of your body.The instructors are simply awesome—the best thing about Jose and Ashley is that they aren’t anything like UWS—/haha…they are kind, affectionate people invested in your technique, spirit and well being.Their words of affirmation might be what you need to hear in the week.In short—LH saved my life in an otherwise misery celebratory New YorkPlease join!!!!

This is a great gym if you enjoy quick and fun workouts! Jose who runs a lot of the classes brings a lot of energy and positivity. Sometimes, you can find him dancing to the music while leading class. Ashley is great at helping you maintain proper form while working out when lifting. Everyone that attends is kind and friendly. Great vibes after a long day at work for the classes!
