Here is my truth about Equinox at West 92nd. First, the folks at the front desk are marvelous, friendly, and attentive. Many of the trainers, those not obviously distracted, are first-rate, bargains at any price. The place is fastidiously clean. And, there are issues. From a former fitness manager there, this branch of Equinox accepts 300 new members a month, actually more. Why? Obviously they lose almost as many or the place would be bursting at the seams. Question: Why do they lose so many members? Answer: No one pays attention. NO ONE PAYS ATTENTION! Neither to machines that are overused and need additional machines nor to those underused and need replacement. Nor is it noted when a member cordons off a machine with a bench and uses it for 30 or 40 minutes, the entire length of one short stay at the gym. No one pays attention. Not to members to whom "may I work in" is an affront. Not to those members who claim a machine and are most of the time on their phones. Sharing is not done, decorum is absent. I have voiced my opinion at the club several times. I have reluctantly cancelled my membership.

Most unfriendly receptionist I’ve come across yet when enquiring about a membership. Makes the choice easy to join another gym. Thanks

I’m a first time Equinox all-access member and I absolutely love it! I do group fitness and I lift weights. I think it’s worth it if you go often (5-7 days/week) and use the gym. This location is clean, has friendly staff and trainers, is home to a gorgeous barre (and other cycling/yoga/boxing/strength) studio, and I appreciate that they have a SoulCycle bike with a monitor + access to SoulCycle on demand & selected livestream classes. Alex was my membership advisor and he was helpful with answering questions I had about different types of memberships and my experience felt very positive/personalized with him (not pressured in talking to him)- highly recommend working with him if you have any questions about membership or Equinox in general!!

Front desk are extremely nice and helpful. Some of the good managers that were there have moved up in position to other gyms and have been replaced by not so friendly or helpful managers.I have recently found some trainers to take over equipment and working out during peak hours and interrupts workouts of clients. Many are working out together

Always dirty, crowded and unorganized. Definitely not worth the price anymore!

Excellent Equinox location and way better than any other gyms in Manhattan. Review is being given because the hours are wack.

This gym is crowded, quite often it's messy, and the air inside can feel stuffy. The layout is nonsensical - it's spread across 4 floors, and if your workout involves weights, you'll probably have days where you need to walk from the top floor to the basement, and then back. And even though the equipment is spread across these floors, there's somehow LESS equipment here, than I've seen at other smaller gyms.If this is your main gym, you're being ripped off by Equinox - the experience here is absolutely NOT worth the membership fee.

This location is cramped and you wont be able to do deadlifts or even find a place for pullups.... But 1000s of cardio machine, maybe even too many compared to stuff to actually work out. Extremely cramped at certain hours making the gym basically unusable, and the steam room smelled funny..... (although none of the other eqx steam rooms do) . I left it after 1 min because it smelled so bad like sewage. I dont think I'll be coming to this location again even though its the closest one to my house crunch on 86 definitely beats this spot
