Best gym in new town. Much more personalized and inviting than the other one. Plus they have a much better weight training section and their employees seem to love their job.

Excellent gym, management/owner, members, trainers, personnel, machine weights, free weights, treadmills, elliptical machines, classes etc. Owner/manager continues to update the gym with new equipment, facilities, and more. Newsletters, social media, and events for the members all throughout the year. Been a member since 2008, and have not put my foot in another local gym, because I am completely satisfied!

Ironbound gym has all the amenities of a chain gym, but the feel of a local gym. Very welcoming and down to earth friendly staff, clean equipment and facilities, modern equipment, good layout, and a healthy variety of classes to choose from. There is a private gym within Ironbound gym for people looking for one on one instruction as well as a cycling room. Only reason I did not give a five star review is because it does not have a racquet court, pool, or sauna. If you're looking for a quality place to do cardio, lift weights, and take some classes I highly recommend Ironbound gym. Oh yeah, it's also less expensive than the other gyms in the area.

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Ironbound. Just moved to the area temporarily before grad school and only needed a gym for the summer. The student membership price was the best I could find anywhere around Williamsburg. It was great to be able to try the gym free for a full week before committing. Charles set up my trial pass no-questions-asked and showed me around. He didn't make an extravagant sales pitch, which I appreciated. The owner, Scott, sent a welcome email directly and promptly answered my questions without being pushy at all. A low-pressure gym experience is hard to find. IBG is a true gem. Been a member for a few weeks now and I look forward to going every day. Quality cardio and lifting equipment (nice open space for core work too). Never overly crowded. Staff and other exercisers are very friendly. Feels like being part of a community. Easiest 5 stars I've ever given.

I am relatively young and therefore have not been to many gyms, but this is the best by far. Helpful manager, friendly environment, and quality equipment create a gym that I wish I could visit every day. I was on vacation, so unfortunately that isn't an option. Good work!

This is the best gym I have ever been a member of, and I love the fact that it is not a chain. Great location, well maintained with everything that is needed. The people are phenomenal ! Always pleasant and friendly but not intrusive, always greeted by name and with a smile. Genuinely nice people especially the owner Scott. Highly recommended

Finally found a power lifter friendly gym on vacation! They have everything I needed - 2 power cages, chest supported lat row, several specialty bars such as an Elite FTS Safety Squat Bar, Zurcher Squat Harness, Trap Bar, boards for board presses, phenominal Hammer Strength Leg press, Hack Squat, Heavy Dumbbells that go up to 120lbs, lots of benches and free weights, and they even lent me a pair of wrist wraps because I forgot to pack my own! $10.00 a day visitor rate and they have better rates if you are going to stay in the area for 2 weeks or so, nice locker rooms and showers, etc etc. Exceptionally nice folks who understand the needs of everyone from soccer moms into Zumba, Crossfitters, Aerobics Freaks, and Strength and Powerlifters! I highly recommend this gym to anyone visiting the Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown areas of Virginia.

Being home from winter break, I am at the end of my 1 month gym membership here. It's smaller than I expected but it's only crowded between 5-7pm which is expected. Other than that it's a good gym. Being use to Virginia Tech gym, the exercise equipment is not as brand new but it's the typical and in good condition. My favorite thing about the gym is that they have tv's on all the cardio machines so I can sit there for up to 2 hours watching interesting stuff and still get a work out!
