I attempted to visit the club as a guest today at the recommendation of my husband who thinks I should use a public gym instead of our private home gym. The front desk associates, Ryan and Rick were the reminder of why I prefer my private home gym. After asking me a couple of questions one had communicated that I couldn't use the club because a manager was not on site, this was at 9:30 am. A day later my sister in law went and she was allowed entry and told to just circle back to the desk after her workout. We are of different hues and I hope to never service any one of these guys in my profession. Sorry not sorry.

I haven't been an equinox member in many years. Really glad to be back. Clean, spacious, low volume of people even during prime time. Love, love, love 10/10

One of the best Equinox I have been to!

A nice and clean equinox spread over three floors. The locker rooms are on the first floor and have built in locks, so those visiting for the day do not need to bring locks. There are orbital cycler machines and chest weights on level 2 with threadmills and all remaining machines on level 3. There is a nice big table with built in power outlets at the cafe as you walk in. Parking is free, but some of the spots are tight for larger SUVs. I could imagine that after work, the parking lot might be full as there are not that many spots given the size of this club.Overall this is a great Equinox for the East coast. Wish NYC had clubs this clean and spacious.

The facility is beautiful however they cater to what I would classify as the non working people. They need late night classes for the working people who work 10- 12 hour days but want to be fit. There are no classes after 5:30pm. I’ve seen one at 6:30 but it’s yoga?? I know people who will also be leaving because of this factor.

Feels like a five-star hotel! Equinox amenities are luxurious, including a spacious steam room, an abundance of Kiehl’s products, and eucalyptus-scented towels. I find the layout well-designed, the staff members friendly and accommodating, and the group classes challenging and varied (though I would like to see morning classes offered between 6 a.m. and 7 rather than only at 5:30 and 7:30). I’d also like to recognize the maintenance crew for meeting the demands of towels and keeping the place clean, though I don’t believe there exists a protocol for wiping down equipment after group classes, as some of those mats need to be hosed down :) All said, Equinox Southport offers a wonderful gym experience and has brought me back to my days of avidly working out!

First class fitness club in Southport CT. Just joined today. Brand new equipment and impeccably clean. Friendly staff. Alyssa signed me up and was very courteous and helpful! Courtney greeted me on the third floor and asked if I had any questions. I was previously a member of Southport Racquet club and was hesitant to join due to the steep dues. But than I considered can I really afford not to join!? Health and happiness should be an important priority. No one is going to take care of me but me! So come join me at the Equinox and let Alyssa know that I referred you! Right now they are offering a $250 promotional savings so the initiation is only $50. Don’t hesitate. Just do it!
