Planet Fitness

This review is for Planet Fitness at Towne Center Drive, Cerritos, CA. I am a member of the Planet Fitness in Hawaiian, Garden, CA which was closed today 3 Jul until 5 Jul. So this afternoon I went the PF at Towne Center to work out since Hawaiian Garden is closed. I was told that I needed to pay $5.00 to workout at their place because I am not a member of that particular place. I confirmed this $5 fee from the Club Manager, Ms Danielle Randle and her response that I have to pay $5 to workout at their place. This is high BS because I should not be penalized just because the other location decided take the day off. They carry the same name although its by different franchises; therefore, there should be a mutual agreement between them so the members do not have to suffer the consequences. I personally think their policy is a disgrace to basic common sense. On the other hand, I want to tell everyone that the staff at Hawaiian Garden are super friendly, courteous and they are always walking around dusting the place. The equipment are clean well maintained. Because of my experience, I would not workout at the Towne Center Planet Fitness. Its not the $5. It’s the principle behind it. I made Ms Randle aware that I will submit this write-up, just to be fair.

Arrived around 8 pm to begin my shoulder and chest workout. I have been to many planet fitness gyms, and this one by far left a sour taste in my mouth. I started my shoulder workout with shoulder presses and set my very small drawstring bag next to my foot, a staff member named "Nicko" had the audacity to interrupt me in the middle of my set while I had 70lb dumbbells over my head!! I understand that there is a protocol but do you really have to interrupt me and risk that weight dropping on my head?! Just to let me know that I can't have my very small bag next to my foot. I politely responded and obliged. I then moved on to use the bench press and in the middle of my set while I had weight pushing down on me, here comes Nicko again to harass me and my workout partner... on top of making me a liability to planet fitness this staff member kept staring at us from a distance making me and my workout partner feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. Your slogan reads "you belong," but today I felt persecuted, intimidated and uneasy. The kicker to all of this, is that this kid had the nerve to confiscate my water jug leaving me almost two hours without drinking any fluids(I tend to stay away from water fountains due to issues with filtration). I will not be returning to this planet fitness location and am considering taking my business to another gym franchise altogether.

I travel a decent amount so it’s tough to maintain any single gym membership and the quality of my workouts are very important to me. That being said I often end up purchasing a day pass to gyms or working out a deal for the week. I make it California and wanted to work out for 1 day and they want 20 bucks when the 1 month member ship is 21.99. It’s clear that this company doesn’t care about fitness or the quality of service it offers, just its bottom dollar. I won’t ever bring my business to planet fitness over sales tactics like this. I guess there’s a reason why they serve pizza and donuts at a gym.

The staff that works the late shift around 10pm-12am is great. I have been goi g here just over a year and seeing the same faces and smiles every night is nice. This location is always clean and the bathroom is always stocked. Paper towels and antibacterial spray is always available as well.

Judgement free, 24 hours, weights, treadmills, AND hydro massage for 21 bucks...Im all in

ESPN is never the actual ESPN channel. If you enjoy watching any ballgame while you workout. DO NOT join this club.

I have been to other Planet Fitnesses and they were all great. This one had No wifi, No place for mat work and double the price for a day pass $20! They need to improve.

I’m a Black Card member at another PF and take my 13 year old with me as guest. We have been to about 8 different PF locations and always just checked in with telephone number. Here they require ID. I tried to explain my kid is just 13, been to other clubs and typically does not carry around an ID. Lady in the front didn’t want to hear it, said they can do this as a franchise and sent us on our way. This is their way of restricting access from other clubs...

Nice gym. Great showers. My favorite Planet Fitness in the area.

Good and clean fitness, not so much people like other big fitness with many location.
