24 Hour Fitness in Oakland offers a spacious gym with modern equipment, a pool, sauna, and steam room. Despite its extensive facilities, the gym faces significant challenges in cleanliness and maintenance. Many members appreciate the staff's friendliness, the variety of equipment, and the overall atmosphere, but frequent issues with broken machines and theft concerns frequently overshadow these positives.

Security and customer service need improvement, as numerous reports indicate unresolved theft incidents and poor staff responses. I have been a member for about 10 years. Very friendly staff and I love the pool, steam room and Sauna. I also love not having to wait for machines to use! Great gym!

The only parking available or validated is within a certain window. No WiFi. With both of these things missing you are already paying for a premium gym. Not to mention no towels, rust EVERYWHERE including on water outing and by the mouth piece. Good for them I can't post pics. Not to mention every 24 has a different day pass price and don't accept out of state id's for their day pass. So if you're from out of town forget about checking out the gym or anyone being cool with it.

This is the worst place to workout, the staff are horrible. I think they should fire all the staff. They're sucks and they only care about money. Last time I felt like I was not treated as human.

Today I visited this gym for the first time and it will definitely be the last small gym the locker room was closed for about an hour in between 1-2pm and they don't offer towels thumbs down

I've been a member for more than a year and added my brother to my membership for $60. It was emberressing them constantly scoping us down to tell us to sign in again. We both felt targeted because of our skin color(black). If this wasn't true I wouldn't waste my time writing this. 24hr fitness acted as if we were trying to sneak in and wasn't a member of the gym. I say 24hr fitness because one foolish employee can make the entire company look bad. This was also emberressing because it caused us to be the center of attention.

Dottie is by far the rudest person ever to work a front desk, how great to take up payroll to just stand there and drive potential business away smh.......why hire people who don't appreciate to help others especially if it's your JOB! If you don't like people you should work maintenance or clean the equipment... And I honestly don't like to talk down about anyone but man when it's obvious you can't help it..

I've worked out here for a couple of years, mainly in pool area. Very dissatisfied with water aerobics instructor. Caprice? Does not show any professionalism whatsoever.yells , screams, coughs up phlegm during supposed workout. Disgusting.Ann Marie IS the bomb of aerobics, makes me actually sweat IN the water. There is mold everywhere where the walls and floor meet, especially in the SHOWER, REALLY GROSS. NEVER go barefooted, NEVER. As far as security goes, I see them on their phones, ALWAYS. No security. Parking lots are ALWAYS full of trash, and usually a homeless van or car.Just sayin.

I've been a member of this gym for about 8 years now and have spent a good portion of my life in different gyms. That being said, this is one of the crappier gyms I've used. I know some of you will say "if it sucks so bad why don't you go elsewhere?" Well I'd say the only reason I stay is because of the price, I pay $50yr which is super cheap. The other reason is because of it's proximity to my residence.Back to why I gave it 2 stars. It's dirty most of the time - trash in the parking lot, filthy locker room floor, sweaty+dusty equipment, sweat soaked sauna, steam room and a skin soup hot tub. It's very small in relation to how crowded it often gets. There's little enforcement of the rules - Weights strewn about, unsupervised teens (hard to fix I know).Redundant/outdated equipment - Most of the equipment is nowhere near top of the line (many are worn-out) which makes no sense considering the gym is located in an urban metropolis and is quite small for the area it occupies. Many machines often have worn cables, missing grips and pins. There is a wall of fairly useless Ab machines that need to go.There is only one lying leg curl machine.Only one standing calf raise machine. No Olympic weights.Pretty much only play hiphop music. Variety counts! Ever heard of Rock? The staff is pretty friendly and helpful though, and it does have a decent basketball court which is all I think Magic Mike ever really cared about.

I was interested in joining this gym as i have just moved here. They wouldnt even let me in the door without a california ID. Ridiculous policy, ill go elsewhere

I have to say this gym always could use a good cleaning and the free weights are missing collars all the time because you people steal them, so you have to check them out which is a hassle. My overall biggest complaint is I have had two bikes that were stolen from this gym midday in the last 18 months and yes they were both locked. Its probably and inside job...I was only at the gym for 40 minutes. SO DON'T TAKE A BIKE OF ANY VALUE because it will get stolen. Security there is useless.
