The gym is often dirty and the bathrooms aren't stocked often enough. They do have a wide range of equipment but when something breaks it takes a long time for it to get fixed. It gets very crowded during peak times. Parking is very hard to come by always. I would advise against auto-pay, they charged me for an extra 30 days after I cancelled my membership.

It's very cheap and the staff is very nice. The group classes are excellent. But we were charged a (huge) annual fee without warning months after joining and the manager was unwilling to do anything to make amends. Most people don't wipe off their machines and the amount of people grunting and throwing their weights on the floor is overwhelming in peak times. The cardio machines are fine; you have to look up at a TV with a pre-chosen channel. Really, this place is the closest to our house. It could be great, but issues of cleanliness and management style make it a chore to go.

A convenient and spacious work out location if you live in NW Portland. Nothing really to complain with a wide range of work out machines / equipment and work out classes with a selection of affordable plans (or do what I did and get the Costco 2 year plan for $400 - ends up being $16 per month for the standard sport level gyms). The only minor issue I can complain about is the cleanliness, but can't really expect much from a gym packed with sweaty individuals.

Well.. Let's see.. Can you say disgusting? The men's showers haven't been cleaned in a week. I've been seeing the same wrapper in the shower for literally the past 7 days, which means it hasn't even been swept.. Makes you wonder about the rest of the place.

So far I have been working out here one week during off peak hours and the machines are open and good to go! It is important to think about when you go as this is a relatively small gym compared to the Super Sports

This is the only 24 hour fitness in the near downtown that has a basketball court. Thousands of people pay their monthly dues and expect to be able to use this court during the hours of operation. Especially the people that like basketball.During the last few months, maybe longer, this 24 hour fitness has been renting out the basketball gym to a High School Volleyball team for their practices. Members are not allowed in the basketball court area during these times. It is Monday through Friday! and normally for 2-3 hours after most people get out of work. This is when most people go to the gym. This is the equivalent of renting out the swimming pool but I guess more people swim and basketball players don't complain as much OR maybe they just haven't found a swimming team to rent the pool to? Hopefully some people will start speaking up. This is completely unethical as a business practice. The only way this should be allowed is if this was a volleyball class that all members could sign up for or all basketball players membership dues went down. But that is not the way corporate america works. So here is my one star review.

My experience is coming to an end with a default judgement against 24 HR Fitness and a court ordered writ of garnishment totaling over $1,200 be paid to me.. If customer service were of any concern to this location I never would have felt compelled to take my issue to court. I contacted the manager Ben Coli multiple times to explain that one of his personal trainers was stealing sessions from me by marking me as "no show" for sessions he cancelled that day, but he did not care. The only solution he could muster would be to talk to the employee and see if he felt it was necessary to refund me the "no show" appointments...I filed in small claims court against 24 HR and they never responded, never reached out to me, and now owe me more than my original claim. This gym is in a convenient location and fits all schedule types, but I'd recommend you pay for all services with them month to month so you don't go through the legal head trauma I'm dealing with.

There were cockroaches in the mens locker room. The swimming pool was Sandy on the bottom and murky. The steam room stank of mildew and other Gross smells; the walls and seating area were marked and dingy with black shoes marks. The layout is decent. Swimming pool is not attached to lockers. The lockers are separate from the wet area. I am visiting for SoCal. So, was glad my level of membership allowed me in, they have a membership hierarchy, buyer beware. I will likely be cancelling soon as my home gym is not much better. The workout area was clean and seemed to be well maintained. Cleaning crews must be minimal. I have to wonder if they are cutting back because they are in financial trouble.

So far all my visits have been met with above average (not excellent) customer service, clean equipment and facilities, and plenty of free machines, though I am always there around 8am. Nothing but a positive experience so far.

Good luck finding an open machine at this 24, the only empty ones are broken. In addition, on numerous occasions you'll get kicked out of the classes because they too, are overly crowded. Yesterday I used the restroom and there was no toilet paper. After waiting for somebody to get off a cardio machine and using it, by 6:15pm there was no paper towels to wipe down the machine! Yet there was three employees chit chatting at the front desk.
