Clueless management--some of the executive decisions made are frustratingly stupid. They recently put really bright lamps in the ceiling, so if you're doing bench, or even looking at the clocks from certain angles, you will be blinded and have after-images. I get that the new lights save the club money, but they would save a lot more money if the wattage was reduced. But you can count on the clueless management to never figure out a way to reduce the output of the lights, so we'll just have to deal with it for years until they (lights or management) are replaced.A worse problem with this facility is the constant harsh chemical smells. There's a burnt-toast smell that comes through the vents with great regularity, but that comes from outside (although a good HEPA filter should take care of it). But the section where the lat pull-down machines are stinks of solvents, presumably that are improperly sealed in the nearby workers' closets. And then there's often various harsh fumes coming from the vents whose origin I could only guess at. But it's just brain and respiratory damage, nothing the management wants to hassle with addressing when they could be flirting with staff instead.

The facilities were pretty nice, but:I did the 3 day trial a little more than 2 weeks ago while I was in town for a few days. Since then they have called me 6 times trying to get me to sign up for a membership. I answered the 4th time and politely told them I wasn't looking to sign up... They have called me twice since then. Had to block them.

Be warned, this gym will continue to take out monthly fees and annual fees even after you have cancelled your membership. Watch your statements for this . It is a very common complaint. I had to threaten the class action lawsuit to even speak with a manager. I will see in one month if they continue to take out monthly fees. Laura at the Pearl was helpful today. I hope this is taken care of. Thanks Laura.

I gave it a 2 because my son has been a faithful member there for about 2 years and l recently visited there with my son. The staff there didn't .......... my son Birthday on 3 day pass earlier this month. I would like that the staff would a least wish their members a happy birthday on the day they come to work out😞😞😞😞😞 …

Unfortunately I have had to take a star off for pushy personal trainers. They have a tendency of bothering you during your workout :( They still have a good assortment of machines and weights though. It's a big enough gym that I can go any time and find open machines/weights. They could add shower curtains in the locker room, but that's fairly minor.

The staff is helpful, the locker rooms are clean, and unlike many other fitness centers, this is a REAL GYM. People are serious and there to workout, not flirt or stand around talking while impeding your use of equipment. Overall it's a great gym and I'll be keeping a long-term membership. Two minor things that prevent a five-star review: (1) The gym layout is basically one huge two-story open-air warehouse. Without any real walls or partitions, there is a lot of loud shouting when there's a class going on upstairs or trainers teaching downstairs. Some will find this to be annoying noise, others will find it to be encouraging energy. (2) They have everything you'd want in terms of types of equipment, but the selection is a bit lopsided. For example, there are four lat pull-down machines with internal weight stacks, but only one chest press machine with an internal weight stack. Not a deal breaker, but there can be a bottleneck in your circuit training or super-sets when it's busy.

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!! THEY WILL NOT CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP WHEN YOU REQUEST IT AND WILL KEEP CHARGING YOU FOR MONTHS!!!!!!!My daughter and myself were members of this gym for several months. When I had to cancel I called the gym and informed them that I needed to cancel my membership for both my daughter and myself. Whoever answered the phone at the desk told me they would take care of it for me. I noticed that I got charged again for another month. I called the second time and was told that it was cancelled and a manager would call me back to confirm. I never did receive the call from the manager and I was charged once again for another month. I called a third time and once again was assured that it was cancelled. I got charged again!!!!! I called for the forth time and was finally provided with an 800 number to call and cancel. They of course would not issue me with any refunds because there were no notes they could find where I had previously requested my membership cancelled. I am so frustrated!!! I will never join a 24hr again! Also, they gym itself wasn't great for several reasons and I found somewhere much better to go in the neighborhood.

The gym no longer has parking available across the street free of charge which makes it extremely difficult to go during before 7pm where there is only street parking. I now have to wait until after 7pm to go so I don't get a headache looking for a spot. Other than that, great staff and everyone who excercises there is chill and mind their own business. It's a great environment.

24 Hour Fitness is worth every penny I pay for it! Of course I get it FREE with my Kaiser Permanente membership. So as they say, "free is a very good price"! I guess that I can do without towels and some of the other frills being provided. The Pearl District location is super convenient for me as I live 8 blocks away. I use the gym late evenings and at night and I never have to wait in lines. I really like the pool, jacuzzi, and steam room. The classes are first rate. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This is my least favorite 24 Hour Fitness facility, but also the most convenient location to my home. It's light and bright inside, but there is too little floor space and not enough equipment. I always feel like I'm in someone's way. Fun, effective classes, but show up early because they can fill up.
