Working with Kelton was a great experience. As a collegiate runner returning from surgery to repair a stress fracture, having a PT who excelled at working with runners specifically was important to me. Kelton expertly guided me through the recovery process and helped me become self sufficient by teaching me strategies to stay healthy in the future. Thanks to his assistance I'm now back to full running volume and excited for the upcoming cross country season.

I went to Steady State for assistance with a chronic shoulder injury caused in part from a bad mountain bike crash many years prior. It was getting to the point where I couldn't enjoy my outdoor activities and I was worried this might be a lifelong issue. Had a bad experience in the past with physical therapy but decided to give Steady State a try and I'm glad I did. Dr. Brent was great to work with and through a personalized care plan I was mountain biking again pain free in a few short months. Very grateful to Dr. Brent and the Steady State team.

I started working with Steady State in April of 2021 when I was having some post tibial tendon issues while running. At that point I was not able to run more than 3 miles without pain. Within 2-3 weeks of beginning to do my prescribed exercises and following a run/walk plan with cross training I was pain free. 6 months later I ran my first 100 mile ultra marathon pain free!! Since then I have continued working with Steady State to address a few other minor issues as I continued to train for my dream 100 mile ultra. I completed my second 100 miler last month and cannot recommend The Steady State enough!

I have had such a positive experience working with the team at Steady State. I am an experienced long-distance runner and I have been so impressed with Steady State's custom plans, their knowledge about endurance athletes and long-distance runners, specifically. Working with Kelton 1:1 has been incredibly helpful for me as I rehabbed my hamstrings, and other little injuries that have cropped up over the years. I'm a much stronger athlete now, and I am able to run 100% pain free. I have HIGHLY recommended Steady State to my running friends who are struggling with injury, and they've had similarly positive experiences. If you are a runner or a serious endurance athlete, "typical" PT services don't work--they'll give you some silly exercises and tell you to stop doing what you're doing. Steady State will LISTEN to your experience of pain, work to understand your goals, and collaborate on a plan to rehab while maintaining fitness. Plus, they are just about the nicest health care professionals I have ever worked with. I could not recommend them more highly!

Simply put, Steady State provides top notch care by dedicated therapists. I came to them with a history of chronic knee pain and a goal to manage my symptoms so I can keep running for many years to come. I am back to running feeling stronger than ever. As a PT myself I understand the importance of working with the specialists to see real results and maximize performance. Thank you Steady State team!

I've been working with Steady State since April of 2023. I started working with them after months of trying to heal an injury from marathon training that flared up beginning in August 2022. After months of attempting to work through it on my own - and even being recommended surgery - I checked out SS for their specialty in running PT and I couldn't be happier I went with them. Brent has been phenomenal at understanding my injury (adductor) and in working with me in a variety of ways: strengthening exercises, stretches, dry needling to name a few. We started off meeting fairly regularly, every 1-2 weeks and those time frames extended the further along we got. I receive updated exercises after every session and I did (still do) them diligently every single evening, missing only a handful throughout the past 3-4 months. I maintained about 30-40 miles a week and was able to successfully complete Sugarloaf Marathon without much pain. The injury isn't completely gone yet - I'm still working with them - but it has subsided drastically, and equally important, I have had control over the injury. I maintained slower miles earlier on and I was eventually 'approved' for speed and track work going from 8-9 minute pace, to upwards of 5/5:30 for 400 sprints without virtually any pain.I HIGHLY recommend them, it's absolutely worth it to work with experts who are able to help you maintain your passion while doing so intelligently and safely.

After hearing great things about Steady State by a number of other local runners, I started seeing Ashten in March when an Achilles issue flared up. Over the course of my ten sessions, Ashten explained, addressed, and helped me reflect on the injury which brought me to Steady State as well as the few aches & pains that cropped up in the months after. My PT plan was always detailed and updated, and I really appreciated how every exercise came with a link for when I inevitably forgot the proper form. Ashten always took the time to demonstrate drills and to make each decision a discussion. By the end of my sessions, I felt as though I had gained a huge amount of tips, tricks, and awareness that no other sports medicine practitioner or PT had ever provided.Overall, the entire experience with Steady State felt personalized, personable, and accessible. As a local runner, I appreciate that they want their space and resources to be used by training groups in the area and that they offer community education and collaboration. While I mostly worked with Ashten, I can also safely and assuredly say that the entire staff is patient, involved in Portland athletics, approachable, knowledgeable, and, to use a technical term, rad. I've never had a better PT experience, period.

I have worked with Brent, Ashten and Kelton at Steady State since undergoing ankle surgery for bone spurs, loose bodies and ankle arthritis for close to a year and a half. They have been very helpful in providing exercises to increase mobility and limit pain. The most helpful part of their work has been helping me understand when to push through pain and when I should rest.

Brent and the entire team at Steady State have been amazing partners for me in my efforts to address the chronic lower back and knee pain that have inhibited my performance in the activities that I love. I've made huge progress in just a few months and have gone from repair to prevention to improvement. I highly recommend the Steady State team and facilities!

Ashten at Steady State has quite literally changed my life. For over 5 years I was struggling with pelvic floor dysfunction and never found the right way to manage it- until physical therapy with Ashten. I tried everything there was in those 5 years, even went to a different PT. But Steady State goes above and beyond. If you are also struggling with pelvic floor dysfunction, you need to go to Steady State and see Ashten. Almost 1 year working with her and I am the strongest I have ever been, I am more comfortable and confident in my body, and I no longer let PFD take over. I cannot recommend this place enough! Oh- and the entire staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.
