Update as of 1/28/23: sauna STILL visibly moldy with trash all over. Soap dispenser in bathroom broken. First two machines minimum not working until I locate a working one. This gym operates like “you’re lucky there’s a gym here at all”•Overall facility is in disrepair. One of two saunas is just a closet, the other smells horridly of mold, which can be seen all over.•Mirrors are broken and taped together inside the gym.•Pieces falling off the equipment, most with visible grime.•Bathroom smells fowl.•No water cooler type of setup, just dirty water fountains.•Predatory cancellation practices.

Good gym but sooo dirty. It's like they just gave up on cleaning it. So unfortunate because it hasn't always been this way.

I’ve been going to the Weymouth location, and I’m loving it. It’s clean, and your not right on top of one another. Never have to wait to use a machine. And I’ve only met the morning staff, and there very friendly.

Hasn't had heat all winter. No AC last August. But to be fair he Doesn't own the building. That said doesn't do maintenance. Shower leaks into men's locker room. 1 toilet doesn't flush properly. Overall clean up is lacking.

Nice gym, good staff. My only concern is it's not that clean. I used to see a cleaning company coming through early in the mornings mopping the floors and wiping down and dusting everything and that no longer happens 😬 …

I highly recommend this place, with 3 locations in Quincy, Weymouth and Abington the price is a steal. No down payment needed either. I was going to Planet Fitness for a while and pretty much out-grew that place. Equipment here is a little dated but they have everything you could possibly need.

I considered not posting a review since good gyms are in short supply, but NE Health and Fitness is worthy of solid backing. Covid season changes include periodic cleaning of equipment by staff (I see machines cleaned whenever I’m in), more stations for you to disinfect after using equipment, loss of the showers and steam room, and plenty of posters around reminding people of the importance of mask wearing. About 98% of members are respectful of this, the other 2% letting their noses show. Fee is nominal compared to others and it’s not Planet Fatness so I’ll come here so long as it’s open

My husband and I have been part of this gym for about 4-5 years. At first we really liked the facilities. Everything was clean & in working order and the location was super convenient for us. Slowly, over time, things started to go downhill. Machines started to go unrepaired, locker rooms were always filthy (as was the main gym space), staff no longer friendly (always on their phones, no greeting of gym guests) and worst of all is the shady cancellation process. Per the contract, you must give the gym 30 days notice of cancellation. If that 30 days falls within a billing cycle you are still charged your monthly dues, if the 30 days falls within your annual membership fee you are also still charged the annual fee. The monthly charge...OK, fine, but the annual fee on top of that makes zero sense to us both. We're cancelling, why would we pay another full year of dues?? At this point, we've been to the gym in-person to cancel as well as sent a certified letter. This morning I called into the gym to confirm cancellation of our membership, because I've literally tried all other avenues to ensure cancellation. I was then told that our last payment would be April...almost 60 days after we initiated cancellation in the first place. The explanation for this made zero sense to me too. Now, I'm forced to put a stop payment through our financial institution to ensure this poorly run & utterly disorganized business will no longer charge our account. On what planet is it legal to charge two full months plus an annual fee from a consumer who cancelled? Apparently planet Earth. It's just wrong, I'm not renting an apartment here. If you're reading this, please go to any other gym but this one, this gym seems to be hanging on by stealing money from unhappy customers. The ethical thing to do in cancellation cases would be to learn from unhappy members cancelling in the first place and improve, to back-date someone's cancellation so they are not charged 3 additional times. The person is already unhappy enough to cancel, so you're going to further leave a bad taste in their mouth by stealing from them? Not good.

I've now been going here for two years.... the longest I've ever lasted at a gym! The equipment is great, the staff is wonderful. Cary is hands down the best trainer I've ever had. The women's changerooms are really clean and comfortable, which is not the case at a lot of gyms. Lots of room for stretching and training along with the weights and machines. The whole place has an easy going vibe--lots of people doing lots of different things to workout with no judgement. Worth every penny!

DONT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM! The gym is small, they have less weight machines than other gyms around, planet fitness near by is 3x the size of this gym and far cheaper. What aggravates me the most is that they trap you with their membership and it's a pain to cancel. I have been a member for over two years, ever since they opened here in Weymouth. I requested the cancel of my membership on February 3rd and they said I would still have to pay for March because of their 30 day policy, which I understood, but in March I was also charged for a annual fee and I ended up paying $99, but I thought it was the end of it and then they charge me again in April for the regular membership. I spoke to the manager on the phone and first he said he couldn't find my membership, then he said there was nothing he could do because I signed a contract that said my last payment would be April, I was told it would be march and the last day to use the gym would be march 31st. Now they don't want to refund my money, they say I need to go 30 prior to the day of charge, if I had gone in January 29 March would be my last payment. It is aggravating because I went there in February it's almost two months and I'm still being charged in April! This gym is a scam, don't go there! There's also other reviews stating the same situation!
