Hands down the worst experience I've ever had. Unwilling to work with you and Alex the person who "handles manager duties" was smug and inconsiderate. $39 dollar annual fee was thrown around like the Bible its self. He claimed to be a 4 year Navy Veteran but obviously had no appreciation for the service. I merely stated I had been deployed for 4 months and hadn't been there and was willing to eat nearly 100$ in fees and asked if he could do anything about the 39$. And he practically laughed in my face while thriving on a perceived position of power and be a total and complete **shole. You're better off getting fat and lazy then to give this horrible establishment your money.

I would absolutely not recommend going here. The mens locker room had a tremendously bad smell and they had no interest in fixing this during our time at the gym. We ended up cancelling because of it and they hassled me over the phone and said they weren't willing to cancel over the phone. My wife went in and cancelled the membership and they still continue to bill us. I'm now taking this up with my bank as they have no interest in fixing the situation.

Many other gyms have the same equipment or better for a less expensive monthly membership and do not increase your payment later on without notice.A few things I've noted in the past two years: First, there are many members that leave their sweat behind. I'm sure this happens in every gym, but if you want to compete with the three other gyms in a 2 mile radius then do something about it and stand out by enforcing this. Second, there is almost always extraneous noise coming from the Basketball court-- whether it be the music played during the fit classes or the squeaky shoes from the local games. The problem is they can't keep the doors shut due to the hot temp in the evenings during the post-work rush and the A/C can't cut it. Third, the music seems to be based on who works the desk each day. Some days there's a playlist made up of only classic rock, other times it will scream techno or dubstep all night long. Sure you could just put your headphones on if you're not feeling it, except the music is BLASTING and there is nothing you can do to drown it out. Change it up for pete's sake and use that shuffle button to give a wider variety.Inconsistent Communication---This takes the cake and is the main reason for this lengthy review. As you can see from the other reviews, I am not the only one experiencing this. They up-charged everyone this past Spring without notice for new paint, flooring, benches, and that Octagon piece in the middle. We did not get a say. It's so great that they made their members pay for something without notice, but I didn't management go around and offer to show us how to use it. We should just figure out the new equipment ourselves since we agreed to pay for it and all, right?Fees. Every gym has fees. The difference is HOW they are explained and how consistently. It sure doesn't make me feel like a valued customer to know that my coworker got her start-up fee waived and to hear that my neighbor got his membership discounted "because they knew somebody" while anyone else is told that this is policy and everyone gets treated the same.Further more, when my fiancé was offered a job in another state and told we would have to move within the next two weeks, I immediately gave cancellation notice in person. I was told by Sarah we would still get charged for August, which I said I understood. Low and behold, as has clearly happened to other members according to reviews, my fiancé and I were both charged for September as well. When I called to inquire, first the rep said he couldn't find my file and immediately went over the cancellation policy verbatim without pausing to breathe. I explained when I gave notice in person that Sarah only mentioned we'd be charged for August/please sign here/good luck on your move... why was she not as descriptive in telling me there would be another month charged because I gave notice on the 25th instead of the 17th? He then had the manager call me later, and I was told the same thing again, verbatim, and there was NOTHING he could do. When I asked why people I know said they got this or that fee or charge waived, he said that's comparing apples to oranges, but they really try and be consistent and fair to everyone, and he wishes he could do more to help me. Well I wish that too, because had he been able to, I probably wouldn't have bothered to leave this lovely review.

Unreal! This gym is a disgusting rip off. The equipment is old, rusted, never fixed when broken. It is probably the dirtiest gym I have ever seen before. I don't think they have ever cleaned the locker room carpets. The lockers are all rusted out, the carpet is growing disease, and the sinks had puke in them one time I went in there. It literally should be inspected by the health department. The double fee in March goes to NOTHING! They used it for 3 treadmills last year, and one of them has been broken for a month. It is pathetic! DO NOT JOIN THIS DUMP.Honestly, this gym would be really really awesome if they kept up with it, Put tile in locker rooms, hire cleaners, fix equipment, make a stretching space thats big. They do have a huge variety of stuff, classes, and even a sweet full court gym to do workouts. I would go back if this was the case. I am just totally turned off by the cleanliness of this place.

Fantastic gym, never full, lots of equipment, lots of serious lifters, can't beat it for the price

FYI - Give TWO MONTHS notice before cancelling your membership and don't listen to a word their staff says because I was a member for over a year and when I moved and went in to cancel my account, the woman I spoke with said my balance was zero and I wouldn't get any more payments - find out weeks later when they charge me for the next month, that I needed to give 2 months notice before cancelling - so I'll be charged for the next two months for a membership I'm not using.

If you are looking for a facility completely lacking focus on it's clients, you have come to the right place. The staff are rude, condescending and, as the historical posts suggest, appear to be prejudicial to females. Ownership may have changed but the same issues persist. Join Northeast Fitness in Abington or just go for a walk.

Not very clean locker rooms. Some of the class instructors were in their own world (like Zumba) most of the time and didn't take the time to properly train the class. I had to PHYSICALLY GO IN to cancel my membership (which is absolutely ridiculous). If I can cancel my internet, Netflix, electric, or OIL without 'going in' to sign a cancellation form, I shouldn't have to do it at the GYM. -_-

I'm not sure what gyms these other people have been to, but I've been to all the ones in Quincy and the next best place is in Weymouth and costs significantly more. Everyone is very friendly, the workout crowd isn't your ken and barbie types - more working professionals who do their thing in the gym and let you do yours, the locker rooms aren't the best but they are better than many Y's I have been to, they have a plethora of treadmills and machines for the cardio or bad strength routine inclined. For anyone who's actually into health, they have two squat racks, two power racks, and all the barbells you need. Plus its bloody cheap. Stop being a DYEL and go down to QAC and start.

Reading other reviews, it seems that folks looking for a high-class gym that costs a bundle, pampers you and probably has an overpriced protein smoothie bar somehow wandered into Quincy Athletic Club. They were disappointed. The gym has two power racks, two squat racks, and round plates and therefore has everything one needs to get strong; It is also 10 dollars per month. So for 10 dollars a month I can strength train in a gym that is reasonably well kempt and has decent hours. Best gym in Quincy, by far.
