Perfect spot for 5 yo birthday party. Georgia and Nadia are most excellent! They gave knowledgeable, enthusiastic, age appropriate guidance and motivation to family and friends, providing a fun, successful, safe experience for all.

Would of given it a 5 out 5 but we went for a kid's birthday and I felt like staff was no where to be found for the first 30 mins so kids and parents were trying to learn on their own. Once staff started to participate and gave direction things got much better. My youngest loved it my 8 year old not so much, she is scared of heights. The walls are fun and plenty of space

The Boulder Field is one of the 2 best gyms that I've been to on the West Coast. Fantastic walls, world class route setting and rarely too busy. You won't ever regret going here!

Very good place to do a rock climbing. My kid loved it.Could have been little more clean (or may be the time i visited in the afternoon more people would have visited already.) but other than that the facility is very good.

They have good route setting and the difficulty is on par with Movement Santa Clara although Santa Clara uses the V scale instead of a color scale. The gym is clean, the bathrooms are small but that gives more gym space so that's okay. There are two shower stalls, for comparison Movement Sunnyvale and Santa Clara have five shower stalls. This place having a bar that serves coffee drinks as well as beer is a great addition. There is one downside to this gym with the color scale. The route setting here does not work for colorblind people. The red, green, and orange look too similar. The pink and black (covered in chalk) look too similar. The blue and purple look too similar. The yellow is good and easily visible. Choosing a darker red and a brighter orange can help. Choosing a darker purple and a brighter blue can also help. Swapping pink for white holds can help as well.

I love climbing here. There's a nice community. They change the routes often and you don't need any rope stuff. The routes are plenty challenging and they have a nice selection of workout equipment and free weights. There's a bar with espresso drinks kombucha and beer. What more could you want?

Super impressed with this place. It's enormous, there are hundreds of boulder problems. The setting is incredible, obviously the setters are passionate about climbing. There were many dynos, comp style problems, and plenty of slab and overhang. The gym is very large, almost impersonal because of its size. It's not cozy, has a warehouse feeling. But everything about the gym is awesome. There is a bar serving Coffee and Tea, as well as alcoholic beverages. The staff was very friendly, it appeared there were only two staff, front desk and bar tender. The crowd was fun. It was easy to make friends.I got a day pass without gear for $25. It's a good value considering the variety of training you can do here. All styles of climbing are represented. There are training boards, a weightlifting and calisthenics area, a dedicated children's area, and fully equipped bathrooms and showers. The walls have a lot of texture so it's easy to smear. I loved the variety of holds, including very expensive holds. There was a good mix of plastic and fiberglass. They do a color grading system, so all of the problems of one color are in the same grade range. That made it easy to go right down the wall and do a circuit. If I lived here I would definitely be a member! I had a great time, and highly recommend you check out this gym if you possibly can!

Fabulous gym with a nice workout area and traverse area. Really enjoyable and the staff was so friendly. Their coffee was fabulous and they have beer and lots of sitting areas if you just want to hang out. The climbing area for the kids is really well done and the place is very clean. The first gym I've been to with an area of more dynamic problems and an area which are more technical. Awesome.

I stopped here on the way up to Tahoe to get a good session in. This place is big with a lot of good bouldering. It had a good amount of training boards as well with 2 sets of moon boards, their own huge training board, and more slat boards.I’ve been to the remodeled Pipeworks bouldering area as well, and that’s not bad, but Boulder Field is much bigger with more variety of boulder routes. There are a lot of long, burly problems that get you jacked as well as a lot of technical problems off strong pinches and slopers. The space is very roomy with a lot of seats and tables for spectators. The floor cushions are perfectly supportive.. not too mushy, not too hard.I will come visit this gym every time I’m up in this area. My kids would love the kid section.
