I really enjoyed the workouts and the coaches were wonderful. However, it was the handling of me canceling my membership that really turned me off. I felt I should share this so others are prepared.I signed up and asked at the time how cancellation/changing my primary location worked given I was expecting to move out of state. They said it was super easy, no contract, cancel anytime. Well I moved and I called the Danville location to cancel. The woman said I was supposed to cancel in person, but she’d send me a form to cancel and stop payment. She never did. Few days later I call again, inform them I was charged for a new month and had requested cancellation. The woman told me I would be refunded and she would send the form. I later received a call from the manager who was 1) very very rude that I didn’t cancel in person and this was a huge impetus to them and she was adamant she told me this when I signed up and 2) I was going to be charged because that was the OT policy. I informed her that two previous employees stated differently. She eventually said she would not charge me given the whole debacle. I received the cancellation form finally. I sent it back immediately. They never confirmed receipt or confirmed my cancellation and they never refunded me the money. I attempted to reach out a final time to no avail. I had been planning to sign up for OT in my new city but given the experience I’ve opted to try Barry’s instead. Felt I should share this so others are prepared should they need to cancel: cancel in person, cancel a month prior to when you really need to cancel, and avoid the manager.
