Great gym the weight room is big with a good amount of machines it gets busy after 430 mainly because everyone gets off work at that time, I enjoy the vibe while in there, it makes you want to workout. I've been to Western village and although it's much bigger I didn't feel to motivated to work out there. I like that it has a kids club my daughter loves it and for only 10 extra dollars it's worth it if you go alot. I would have given it a 5 star but they changed their 24 hour policy which was more convenient for me, if they bring that back I think it would be great especially since that was a factor in why I chose this gym.

Best gym in town! Great prices, almost always a sign up deal of some kind to help you get started. VERY well maintained facilities, equipment, and everything in between. Shoutout to employee Caleb who was extremely helpful and saved me a huge amount of money getting signed up and was friendly and got business taken care of quickly. I plan on staying a member for as long as I'm living in Santa Maria.

In shape decided to change their hours without notifying their members. When I called the manager Jordan her reply was to help me cancel my membership. They have left lots of members with a gym membership they cannot use. They don't care they still get their money.was to keep

most of the machines are outdated and not the best quality. it seems to be overcrowded all the time. theres only 1 or 2 of each machine so i find myself always having to make myself look busy when i really want to use a certain machine. i dont understand what the upgrade fees are for, since 2012 the only new things are the dumbbells and that crossfit room that barely anyone uses. i have no idea how its $40 per month, when western health village is much bigger, updated (and more) equipment, and less crowded for the same price. i had canceled my membership at the end because i thought i was going to be moving. turns out i didnt move, and my contract was up on halloween. i went in on november 1st to ask if i can continue it and was told if i had come in october 31, they could have continued my old rate of 29.99 per month. but since i came in on november 1, they had to raise it to 39.99. i would have thought that since ive been loyally going here since 2012, they could have kept me under my original price. i will be changing gyms soon if i dont get some solid explanations about at least the pricing. i dont want to pay more than what the gym provides.

First this is really really expensive, they really want you to believe they have the newest stuff, and even charge on top of regular dues to keep upgrading.. all lies 3years ago they have what they still have 3months ago. There equipment is old and torn up. Trying to cancel resulted in attempts to keep charging me for 4months I had to change credit cards (do not trust them with your bank info) and then they attempted to send me to collection. Can't stand shady business practices. Could be better but it is not worth the price especially when there is much better choices

I planned to go to this gym yesterday as a trial run, but I left with a membership card, how could I not?Entering the gym itself was refreshing, it was clean, well aired out, and I was met with a smiling staff member. After signing up I really began to work out. There were quite a few folks there, but they moved around and used different machines enough so that it wasn't hard to get your hands on the machines you wanted. I got to walk around and do just about anything I wanted, surprised at the extra elements that the gym had to offer. The staff, I saw another review of the staff and I just have to say my view of them was the opposite, save from the night shift who obviously favored familiar faces over new people, the day staff was extremely friendly, polite, and a great deal helpful. It is employees like that that won me over.In the end, i love this gym so far, and am sure to enjoy working out surrounded by people with similar goals to mine.

The facilities are nice enough. It has a 25m lap pool, large group workout rooms, woman-only workout areas, large cardio and weight areas, a "special" workout area, and even a kiddy play area for the parents. However, the patrons and staff are underwhelming. The gym is loaded with "Bro's" who hog equipment, do not re-rack the weights, and are generally rude. My wife waited nearly 40 minutes to use a leg press machine that was being hogged by two gentlemen more interested in chit chatting than working. What should be a 30 minute workout often ends up taking an hour while you "treasure hunt" for the weight you need, or a clamp for a bar. This is the definition of a "big box" gym that has the sole goal of getting you locked into a contract and collecting your monthly dues with little regard for your actual workout experience. It's not entirely their fault, as another large gym in the area closed and this one absorbed a lot of the clients, but it is what it is.
