The hardest part was taking the first step but the team at CrossFit Rise does an amazing job of easing you along. CrossFit Rise is by far the most comprehensive CrossFit program in the Chicago area. They don't clump the beginners and more experienced members into the same classes like many other gyms do but really focus on technique and quality of movements before moving you up to the more advanced classes. Rise is more than just a gym and there is family/community atmosphere. Joining has helped transform me physically and as a person. The 7-day free trial is a great way to start.

After researching crossfit locations for weeks I decided on CrossFit Rise. They're website provided me with vast amounts of information to aid in my decision. Along with a very professional and thorough website, the facility offered the same. Jessica, the owner, was absolutely wonderful in getting back to me with any questions I had in a timely fashion. When I went for my trial class, Michael the instructor made me feel extremely comfortable during my first time crossfitting. I can not wait to get started and be a part of the team!

The instructors are efficient and have good knowledge why a specific workout should be done that way. First few weeks are tough but if you can handle the techniques, it's pure awesomeness. The most motivating thing at Rise is that, people are so encouraging and they'll help you a lot. Just by seeing the people you get pumped up to do the workout. My instructor Justin and Troy are really good and they know what they teach. If you want the technique and good fitness drag you butt here but if you need equipment and esthetic equipment go to the "Fitness" places who charge you $100 and you gain nothing.

Crossfit Rise is more than just a gym its a sanctuary for your mind, body and soul !!! Crossfit Rise has the most amazing and knowledgeable trainers that know how to coach, instruct and correct all exercises. Not only do the trainers show a great deal of knowledge about the lifts, they also explain why the exercises/lifts are to be performed the right way. I have been a personal trainer for 8 years and I will be the first to say that Crossfit Rise and their trainers teach me something new every day!!! Like most people life gets in the way and my physical fitness took a back seat, but no worries Crossfit Rise has "beginner" aka "fitness" classes. I have known trainer Justin Ehrhardt for a few years prior to joining Rise, but I am utterly amazed at his expertise and love for the lifestyle. Justin is a true professional in every sense of the word, hes the best trainer I have ever had. With that said, All the trainers at Rise are truly amazing! As far as quality of equipment, Crossfit Rise spares no expense, the owners Brian and Jessica have made this Crossfit the best gym I have seen with top of the line squat cages/pull up rack, med balls, sleds etc...The environment at the gym is fun, addictive, and encouraging. The people that go to Rise all are very nice and a community/family feel is felt by all members, a truly rare accomplishment for modern gyms to attain.I cannot thank the family at Crossfit Rise enough, my wife and I have loved every second since joining and plan on never stopping. Crossfit Rise is more than a gym, its a sanctuary...

I just joined this box for my time home over winter break from College, and I love it!! Compared to what I have back at school, CrossFit Rise has the dream package: Bumpers, Rogue Rig, Rings, Rowers, and even an amazing coaching staff. Even though I am a short-term member, I am extremely pleased with what I have at CrossFit Rise

I was out here for an internship and found this gym. Though I was only there for the time of my internship, the gym was top notch. From day one I felt like I had a new family. This place is what CrossFit is all about: from the coaches to the gym members. If you are looking for a gym or just stopping by, look no further, this is the place. Thanks CF Rise for making my time spent here worth it!

After attending my first free introduction class in September 2013, I signed up immediately to be a member at Crossfit Rise.Brian (owner) coached our Foundations class and he patiently and diligently taught our group the proper techniques of the movements for 4 days before we participated in any of the classes.I have learned new skills I would have never learned at a traditional gym (i.e. Jump Rope clinic) and developed friendships outside the box. I have a new appreciation for my body and the potential to be stronger and better. Each workout of the day is well designed and planned for. This facility has top-notch trainers who encourage you to do your best and scale as needed. Coaches Justin, Val, Michael and Jason have been instrumental in helping me improve my form and inspire me to keep trying. The box has recently undergone an expansion and has first-rate equipment from its Olympic bars to the Rogue Fitness plates. Not many people realize that this Crossfit box also gives back to the community thru its fundraising workouts hosted by the members.Check out their website and see the different class options they have for your needs.

I have visited various Crossfit gyms all over the country before. This is, by far, one of the best gyms that I have visited, in terms of facility, equipment, coaches and community. They are a very well rounded gym with their Olympic lifting program, mobility days, Crossfit Endurance, and even gymnastic sessions! If you are looking for a competitive gym, they also have great athletes in the gym, where they participate in many team and individual competitions (and usually get on the podium). A few of the athletes have also been in various Olympic lifting competitions. If you are a beginner to Crossfit, they hold a very comprehensive on-boarding class, and the coaches are excellent in helping you with your technique and even eating healthier. I ended up being at this gym for 5-6 months while I was working in the area. The coaches were very knowledgeable and have had several years of experience in Crossfit. What makes this gym stand out more than most gyms is the fact that they have dedicated Olympic lifting coaches. Both Roger and Angie have years of experience in Olympic lifting between them and members benefit from this. Just a few weeks working with them and your Olympic lifting technique improves significantly - let alone working with them for a couple of months! They are great at adjusting your technique, and even creating individualized lifting programs for you. From the 5-6 months I was there, I improved my snatch by 20kg, clean and jerk by 20kg, and squat by 27kg.The facilities and equipment at Crossfit Rise are one of the best that I have seen, and they are constantly improving! They have a dedicated lifting area, mobility area, a very large space for the WODs, plenty of rowers and other equipment. Perhaps the only area of improvement is that they don't have many GHD machines, and when I was there, they were just planning on adding showers to the facility.Crossfit Rise also has a very strong community. They host plenty of social events throughout the year, including a holiday party in December, an event where 1000+ burpees was done for charity, and even an air guitar competition. Finally, in terms of pricing, they are one of the less expensive Crossfit gyms in the Chicago-land area.I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone that is in the area!

I visited this location for work back in May 2013. I worked out every day throughout the week and had a great time. Even though I was visiting, everybody was very friendly and helpful during all the workouts. Very knowledgeable coaches matched with a very nice facility. Great place to workout if you're in the area.

I have been a member of CF Rise for a year now and it has changed my life. I was a gymnast from 20 years and thought i knew all I needed to regarding working out since I competed D1. Then I tried crossfit and realized that these were the most challenging workouts I had ever done. It is much more than a workout but rather a community, a sport and a way to challenge yourself physically and mentally. Crossfit rise's coaches are 2nd to none, where they will motivate you, tell you when you can do better and know more about sports, body, mind and nutrition than any other gym I have been to.
