Such a welcoming group! I had no experience with Jiu-Jitsu prior to coming here and everyone I've met has been a great teacher. I look forward to continuing my training here and definitely recommend it to anyone in the area.

I took a self-defense class at Gracie Barra and it was incredible! The people there were so friendly, but also very serious about the lesson. They explained the moves in easy steps and allowed me to work with them at a slower pace so that I could become comfortable with what I was doing. The pre-lesson warm-up also had me feeling great afterward, and I try to incorporate those moves into my workout routine as well. I learned a lot through this class and recommended it to all my friends!

So I've been looking around for a new place to train. After some looking around I found Gracie Barra Schaumburg, Went through the intro on the website and signed up, decided to walk-in and see what it would be like walking in un-announced. Great experience, I walked in was greeted and talked to by a coach within minutes. All of my initial questions were answered and I'm going to be going to an into class this week. Great experience so far. I was made to feel welcome and it seemed the coach under stood where I was coming from and what I want to accomplish. Can't wait for my introduction class!

Since the day I called to set up my intro class everyone has made me feel apart of the Gracie Barra family.This school is top notch with a great jiu jitsu program. Professor Jason is an amazing teacher his attention to detail and the way he can break down the most difficult moves is truly a gift not many people possess.The other students are a great group of guys that never shy away from helping a fellow student out. Without hesitation I have never had a bad training partner. I was deciding between 3 schools when I made the decision to start BJJ and I can honestly say its a decision that I would not change for anything! If you are looking for an amazing work out and looking to be challenged physically and mentally this is the place to start training at! Don't hesitate just make the move take the free class and YOU WILL BE HOOKED AND YOU WON'T LOOK BACK!!!!

We started Gracie Barra Martial Arts, and in 3 weeks i have seen my child's confidence increase. Always asking if we are going to "jitsu" today.The coaches here are very pleasant and welcoming, especially to the younger kids, and at the same time encouraging respect from the kids.Besides teaching them martial arts, the program teaches them basic skills, such as listening, paying attention and most of all respect while having fun at the same time. The coaches try and work on the weakness of each kids, such as listening, or encouraging them to speak.My child was very hesitant to even start. First time, only sat on the mat for 5 mins. Second time, it took 15 mins to get onto the mat. And now after 3 weeks, runs onto the mat when it's time.I would highly recommend this program.

Having a child with special needs, it is difficult to find a facility willing to truly immerse her into their program. At Gracie Barra in Schaumburg, They have been great. Not only is she improving each week, but she is gaining confidence and is fully included in the class. We could not be happier with her progress and would recommend Gracie Barra to everyone we know.

My son has only attended one class so far and he loved it. The instructors are fun, caring, and creative. They made sure that kids were having fun but held them to high expectations. He is really looking forward to his next class.

This is an excellent place to learn Jiu Jitsu. I have been coming here for about a year now despite it being over an hour drive from work. There are other places that are a much shorter drive for me, but I feel the level of instruction and the larger variety of people and classes makes it worth it. The new professor (black belt instructor) is really good at breaking down the moves and pointing out the most important details. I've always been treated kindly and with respect by all of the staff, higher-level belts and the owner. I would have zero reservations about recommending GB Schaumburg to anyone.

The Early Skillz Program at Gracie Barra Schaumburg is a great class for young children. It presents strong values (listening, focusing, respect) in a very fun way. I have a 3 year old and a 6 year old that attend class for their respective age groups and they absolutely love it. My daughter is very girly and thought she wouldn't like jiu-jitsu, but was hooked after her first class. Actually, she loved it just watching her little brother's class! Coach Brian is the perfect instructor: kind, commanding, fun, encouraging, etc.Professor Jason is one of the strongest assets at the school. He is a great teacher to all skill levels.My husband and I also train here along with my 62 year old father. Definitely a family-friendly atmosphere and a great way to bond families through physical and mental activity. All of the classes have taught us to have strong bodies & strong minds and show that you're never too young or too old to begin jiu-jitsu.

I started training here when the doors first opened almost two years ago. I have met some great people here. Jiu Jitsu has also helped me get into the best shape I have ever been in(I've lost 50lbs since I joined). Professor Jason is a great instructor and really breaks down the details involved in all the techniques, and is always there to help with any questions you may have.
